Allen C. Grace (August 28, 1960 – April 24, 2023)

Allen C. Grace, a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Monday, April 24, 2023, following a short illness.

Allen was preceded in death by his father, Julian Grace, Sr., paternal grandparents, Augustine (“Tinnie”) and Margaret (“Maggie”) Grace, and maternal grandparents, Ramon and Anita Garcia.   He is survived by his fiancée and devoted companion, Patricia Trujillo; mother, Eulogia Garcia; daughter, Sarah Grace, son, Gabriel Grace (Hailey) and grandson, Kieran; brother, Julian R. Grace; stepmother, Rosalina Grace; aunt, Pita Garcia, aunt and uncle, Veronica and George Perez, and uncle, Patrick Grace; Goddaughter, Shea Landing; and nieces and nephews and numerous cousins that all loved Allen dearly.

Allen was a respected professional land surveyor in Santa Fe and around New Mexico for over 29 years.  Early in his career, he started and managed his own business, XYZ Surveys, and served as the Santa Fe County Surveyor from 2001 to 2008.  He was a past President of the New Mexico Professional Surveyors and the 2024 President-elect. He also served as past President for the Western Federation of Professional Surveyors.

Allen was, above all, a family man.  He was a fan of most sports, especially baseball.  He loved to play golf and was a family champion at horseshoes.  Allen had an unforgettable sense of humor and was considered the life and joy of any party.  He was known as a kind human being throughout his entire life.  Allen was a humble man and a gentle soul, always willing to help anyone in need.  A huge void will be left in the hearts of everyone that knew him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Church in Santa Fe.  A burial will follow at Rosario Cemetery.  Allen’s Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave and his son, Dustin Cooper, Mikey Baca, and Julian R. Grace.

The family would like to thank all those that expressed their condolences through visits, phone calls, sympathy cards, and food and monetary offerings. Allen was blessed to have such a loving family and so many good friends.

We send our condolences to the family. Allen was a remarkable individual. He was always professional in his surveying business. I grew up with Allen he was a good guy and friend to everybody he met and he would give you the shirt off his back. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. Allen will be missed.
