To speak of Alice , we must include Phil, as we only knew them together. We rented the “ranch hand” house at Crystal Gardens from 2012-2014. Phil and Alice treated us and our children as family from day one. We also included them in our family birthday parties and holiday events, to which Alice ALWAYS brought one of her delicious dishes or home baked goodies. Phil went out of his way to help build a volleyball court in their park area for our daughter, Elaina, who was vying to be Captain of her volleyball team. They were kind, loving, gracious, generous, hard-working, strong-willed, wise, God-fearing Christians, who were examples of openly being honest about who they were. They shared their hearts openly. Alice always had a smile to give and a warm hug. We continued a relationship with them, via Alice, until after Phil died. Alice, and Phil, will always be treasures in our hearts. They will always be alive in our hearts.

We always enjoyed our time with Alice and Phil. From our Sundays at church with them to our movie nights and dinners out. Alice and Phil seemed to be perfectly matched and both loved their Lord.

Alice and I crossed paths for the first time waiting in the car pickup line at Egremont school. We'd pass the time sitting in her van, laughing and trading "kid" stories. We were later co-leaders of the Girl Scout troop (Brownies, actually) participating in campouts and selling Girl Scout cookies. Every year, Alice and Phil hosted a big Fourth of July party, roasted pig and all. Sitting on a raft in their little lake, listening to music, playing badminton and generally just laying back - we looked forward to this event. Alice was a very strong lady, and sometimes we crossed swords about somehting, but later made up and all was well. I loved her and shall really miss her. I leave with words of wisdom from my sister, Pat, who passed away a year ago: "Suppose one day you never wake up. Do all of your friends and family know you love them? Were there any wounds needing to be healed - friendships that needed rekindling, or three words needing to be said. "I love you" can heal and bless." I think Alice and I knew that. I love you, dear friend and one day we'll meet again.
