All because two people fell in love.
The 4th of July will never be the same. A day that was supposed to be spent with family celebrating freedom turned into finding out my daughter was murdered.
It was unimaginable to think that I had just talked to her the night before at about 8:30. I later come to find out that she endured 3 days of hell being beaten and abused by the man who professed to love her and cherish her. Adelina her daughter was in her bassinet in the living room and witnessed everything that happened to her mom Alexandra. She was only 5 months old at the time and still remembers certain details. My friend Amy, who I was working for at the time, lived 3 houses down from Alexandra. She called me and said that there was an ambulance, fire trucks and the sheriffs office at Alexandra’s house. I called my husband Don and told him to get over to Alexandra’s house something bad had happened. He immediately went over and called me to find out where I was. I told him to tell me what was going on and he wouldn’t. I was in Odessa cleaning. It would normally take 30 minutes to get to where I was but they made it to me in 15 minutes. My life shattered right at the moment he told me Alexandra was dead. I didn’t want to believe it. I screamed at him too take me to her now.
I was numb. I didn’t know what to do or say. It must be a nightmare that I would wake up from at any moment. As we got closer to her house and I saw the scene unfold before my eyes, my nightmare was confirmed. He had taken my daughter away from us. My middle son, Thomas, had Adelina in his arms when I got there. I immediately got Adelina from him to check her and make sure she was alright. I went to change her diaper and took her onesie off only to find my daughters blood splattered all over the back of it. Alexandra fought and tried to get away from him. She also tried to keep Adelina safe and protected from him.
Alexandra died from multiple blunt force trauma and strangulation. This is a nightmare that I live with everyday. Alexandra loved with every fiber of her being. Her kids were her world. Family meant everything to her. My daughter was a short lil powder keg of dynamite. Her passion was to open a rescue and rehabilitation kennel for pitbulls. I was so amazed at her and how wonderful she was in gaining the trust of some of the meanest pitties you’ve seen and turn them in to gentle giants. She always said that they were just misunderstood, like her. Those dogs protected her and Adelina with their life.
There is so much more that I could tell you about Alexandra. I will add more as things come to mind.
