A Life of Dedication, Humor, and Heart
In Loving Memory of Alexander “Alex” Martinez
November 28, 1967 – May 25, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Alexander Martinez, who left us far too soon on May 25, 2025, at the young age of 57 years old.
Alex was a devoted father, loyal friend, and proud public servant. He dedicated 25 years of his life as a Correctional Officer at Ironwood State Prison, where he served with integrity, strength, and compassion. He retired in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, uplifting energy, and resilience.
Alex had a larger-than-life personality and a heart to match. He was known for his quick wit, unforgettable sense of humor, and deep love for his family. Whether he was cheering on his favorite teams, cooking in the kitchen with his latest Costco gadget, or playing pranks on unsuspecting loved ones, Alex brought warmth and laughter to every room he entered.
Family was at the center of Alex’s world. He was a fiercely proud and loving father who never missed an opportunity to support or celebrate his children. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support that will continue to guide those who knew him.
Alex is survived by his children (Kaelyn and Landen), his grand-dog (Rudy), his siblings (Arlene, Mark, Hector, and Laura), extended family, and a wide circle of friends and colleagues who will miss him deeply. He touched countless lives with his generosity, loyalty, and unforgettable spirit.
A celebration of Alex’s life will be held on Friday, July 11, in Chino, CA.
Though Alex’s time with us was cut far too short, his memory will live on in the stories we share, the values he instilled, and the love that continues to surround him.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

I will miss our talks about everything from politics to your Costco runs and the future. God took you too soon and it makes me sad that you didn’t get to enjoy all your retirement years. You left a void in our hearts my prayers goes to your children and family that will miss every day may you rest in peace my dear friend.

I Married his beautiful sister 29 years ago and found Al to be a fiercely protective little brother who evolved into a friend. He loved his children and his family passionately. This is a lesser world without him.

I would hang out with Alex everyday in Complex Control while waiting for count slips. We had a lot of laughs and great conversations. During one of them we discovered that our dads not only worked at the same place, but they also worked on the same project so they had to have interacted. That just blew our minds! It was my pleasure & honor to not just call him a coworker but a friend outside of work, as well. Get working on your chess game buddy, we I get up there, we’re going to start back up.
