Alex Kennedy

Alexander, also known as “bro,” “dude” or just Alex, passed away at the age of 51 in New York City on Sept. 9, 2023. He was simply ushered into Heaven while he slept peacefully.

Alex was born June 9, 1972 to Edwin Paul Kennedy and Svona Kay Yankle in Warren, MI. He arrived two months premature and faced several medical challenges. Reconstructive heart surgery, surgical removal of tumor and chemotherapy were all part of his first year of life. But by 18 months of age, he was declared cancer-free and went on to embrace life.

His family moved to Flint, MI where he spent his early childhood years in the company of extended family. Again in 1984, the family relocated to Traverse City, MI where he graduated from Traverse City Senior High.

Alex was full of adventure and greeted new opportunities with great delight. He worked in the Food and Hospitality Industry for many years, eventually reaching management level. He became a father and welcomed Meaghan Terri in January 1998. And later he ventured into the field of Sports Massage training to become a Certified Masseuse. Eventually, he moved to New York City where he reestablished himself in Food and Hospitality, serving in some of the finest restaurants in that city. NYC became home to him; he never had a desire to move again.

He enjoyed life on his terms. He is sadly missed by family and friends
