Alex "Bubba" Norman Avendaño, Sr.

With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Alex Avendaño Sr., who passed away the morning of January 28, 2026 in Michigan following complications from a long and courageous battle with colon cancer.

 

In lieu of traditional funeral services, the family will gather to celebrate Alex’s life at a later date. Information about the celebration of life will be announced when arrangements are finalized.

 

Alex was a loving father, devoted partner, cherished brother, and beloved son. He had a way of showing up for the people he loved — with strength, humor, and a heart that was always open. His love for his family was evident in everything he did.

 

He leaves behind his beautiful wife, Emily, and their two young daughters, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his three adult sons, two adult daughters, and many grandchildren, all of whom carry pieces of him forward in their lives. His legacy lives on through them — in their laughter, their strength, and their love.

 

Alex will be remembered for his resilience, his kindness, and the deep love he had for his family. He will be profoundly loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
