I am so sorry that I will not be in attendance! I am Pat's sister-in-law and I have known her since I was nine years old. We became friends right away! We could talk for hours! Even after her children were born we would stay up for hours talking! (And she had to get up early to tend to them). Pat was my mentor! She always encouraged me to go to school and get an education at a time when women were just beginning to do that! She helped me through break-ups and what at the time seemed like earth shattering events!! She would always say something encouraging. After she moved to California, she would write letters to me and call me. After I moved to California, (and after she and my brother divorced) we reconnected in a new way. Our families shared holidays and other ocassions together. There was always lots of laughter and of course talking!! We ran on the beach! We went to the Half Moon Bay Festivals! We always had fun together. We conspired together!! We each persued our individual careers and talked about them all the time! When I moved away, we continued to stay in touch and visit when possible. When she came to visit we would go on vacations with our husbands. We always cared about each other. I miss her and our interactions. I will always be grateful that she was in my life! And thankful to her for giving that nine year old so much to look forward to in life!

I'll always remember Aunt Pat as the sweetest, kindest, most gentile human being I've ever met. Always smiling, her positivity and love will be missed.
