Irene and I traveled to many bridge tournaments. She was a great partner and friend. This photo was taken at the Hunt Valley Tournament in Maryland.

Thanks for sharing this photo Betsy. She started the bridge tournaments after I left for college so I had forgotten about that part of her life. It was so nice to be reminded and see this photo.

Rob, Jenn and respective families. I was sorry to hear of Irene’s difficult illness and her passing. I can only imagine what a great mother she was, since her children are both so wonderful. Sending you my warmest regards.

Jenny and Robbie,
So sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. I thought of her often. She was such a nice person. We had alot of good times in the earlier years.
Please take care
She is now resting and at peace!

Dear Jen and Rob,
Please accept our deepest sympathy. What fun times we all had as all our kids were buddies living in Northeast Reading growing up. Our deepest sympathy,
Cherylene Shollenberger
It is so nice to hear from Mrs. Lucchese and Mrs. Shollenberger! Thank you for posting these comments. I hope you and your families are well! Gina posted a really nice comment on FB as well, which was very thoughtful and a nice memory.

I never had any sisters, until I married Rich. Irene, you shared so many recipes with me, as you and I prepared them together; the card game nights at your house were so much fun; not to mention the shopping sprees at the Reading outlets. I loved it all. I miss your laughter and smile and our talks about being teachers. Fly high and know your spirit lives on through all of us.

Irene, you will always live in my heart. You were a loving, cheerful, intelligent and most of all a caring sister. I remember how us siblings would tease you for being a book worm, you were a prolific reader always with book in hand. You were a teacher for many years and also a mentor in many ways to us younger siblings. You will be missed by everyone who knew you throughout your life!
