Steve Harding

Steve peacefully passed away on the evening of September 24, 2019, at the age of 55. He is survived by his wife, Sammy, and his children, Jasmine and Justin.
We created this page for those who wanted to share their memories of Steve, a proud Canadian who lived an adventurous life with friends from all over the world
Steve's life was defined by his adventurous and independent spirit, and his (sometimes offensive) sense of humour. As Steve’s mom, would put it: he was always entertaining, never boring, and usually hair-raising adventuresome.
When Steve had a goal, he achieved it. This resulted in his successful career as an engineer and his international lifestyle. He loved to travel; his first major trip after high school was a trip touring through Europe. That was just the start of his travelling story. Throughout his life, he also ended up in Asia, the Americas, the Middle East, and Oceania. He enjoyed the adventure of working overseas and ending up in new places, and he loved sharing those experiences with his loved ones.
Steve was never afraid to speak his mind, especially when it came to his sense of humour. His confidence and sense of self earned him many friends. As many of you know, Steve loved to joke around and laugh. Even after his brain surgeries, he could find humour in the situation, making jokes about only having 3/4 a brain. One of his accomplishments after his first surgery was becoming a MENSA member. His drive to bounce back after each health setback, quite likely as a result of his determination to live his life by his own terms, meant that we had so many more extra years with Steve than anyone could have expected.
In memory of Steve, we hope you will consider donating to a cancer research foundation.
Here is an awesome Canadian foundation: https://www.braintumour.ca/6915/donate-now
And an awesome Australian one: https://www.cancercouncil.com.au/ways-to-donate/
In memory of Steve, a loved son, husband, and father, we also hope you make sure to do some of his favourite things: eat well, travel often, and live unapologetically.
