Full of shenanigans and laughter with friends during her time off, Michelle was never afraid to try something new. This time, trying out the slackline at an end of the workweek party among fellow teachers. Miss you, Michelle.

Michelle gave up her spring break multiple times to sponsor 8th grade students on their trip to DC and New York City. She was always a jokester, making the trip fun. In this instance, she pretended to be the professional driver, ready to get the students to the next phase of the tour.

I worked with Michelle at LCMS for the last 5 of her teaching years. One of the best times I had with her was traveling to San Diego for an AVID conference and being roomies! Toward the end of day 1 when we had time for breakout sessions to collaborate with eachother, we decided that we could do that at any time and getting a massage was more interesting. We booked some massages, conveniently, across the street! But the fun didn’t stop there! And it never did with Michelle! That night we started hearing a lot of sirens outside of our hotel room. Looking out the window we see a long line of police cars following a slow moving vehicle. Michelle immediately starts videoing the chase! And we spent the next 30 minutes playing out all of the different scenarios. Once they pulled the person out of the car, Michelle says, “We have to send our video to the local news!” We called all of the local stations and started emailing our video and sat the rest of the night hoping to see our video debut…which it never did. We were laughing all night long, as you usually did when hanging out with Michelle. I’m so grateful for our time together and I miss her immensely!

Here she was, giving up her personal time on the weekend, helping kids raise money through a dog wash. She helped with it year after year, and always had a big smile on her face.

Michelle and I loved representing the teaching profession at Los Cerros' Career Day. She made teaching fun and represented it well as a career that brings so many rewards. Love you, Michelle. Always and Forever!
