I vividly remember when my team and I had a chance to choose a family to 2020 father's day quiz and it being the first time I knew you, it's was a heart warming time from the time we came and the very unending come again good byes were so welcoming. October reaches and start thinking about a family to record for the 2020 Watoto MMO giving from home story and the only home that comes to my mind is this very welcome home, am so glad that by Gods selection Mr. Mayende's family was chosen again to be filmed. I remember it was the first lockdown season and on our arrival at home, you actually ran to welcome us with a hug amidst the pandemic that doesn't allow us to hug, the different sessions we had to record with the always happy family dancing, giving and singing together was an incredible moment, those times for interviews were great I remember We ( The comms team at Watoto will always miss you and we know you are resting with angles, Will always love you. To mum, Dad, Ronia and Ivy, may God's unmeasurable peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Blessings.

Oh Steve!! Words have limited me on what I can say about you. Your departure is so hard to accept. I met Steve at Open friends where love is without condition and yes, if you met Steve you would not doubt the name of the school because verily was an open friend who LOVED WITHOUT CONDITION. As a teacher, Steve always led me to the Scripture, he always responded and delighted in the Word of God indeed as a doer of the word but not just a hearer. A thought of going at open friends and Steve isn't there for good is so heart breaking, it's a nightmare. Your complements always pushed me forward, you were such a nice God fearing young man. Oh, the farewell well words I should quote "Ms Allen, congratulations on your new job, I know where you are going you may not be having time for praying and many devotions like here at Open friends, but please keep praying as an individual", how can I forget such words of wisdom, how

I thank God for the wonderful gift He gave to us in the person of Steve. I got to know Steve from the teenager's service (Morph) where I serve as a Youth Leader. Steve has been very examplary, and for me he has lived out 1Timothy 4:12 "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." Through the time I have known Steve, I have been privileged to learn from him lot's of things but let me share a few; *Love genuinely. Steve always looked out for his friends. Every Sunday, I was assured of a warm greeting from Steve, he always walked to me with a bright smile on his face and said hello addressing me by name and respectfully adding Mr. Steve always expressed so much care even just through his greeting, you would see the heart of gold. He always asked, how are you? And then also asked how my week was. "Ooh what love." I was inspired to be more intentional and I am working on personalized greetings as I address every one I greet by name with due respect. *Planning and determination. Steve was a meticulous planner and always worked to accomplish what he had set to do. Steve was so organized as he always shared progress and achievements of the things he had planned and also update on the things he was yet to do each time we had a chat. In our final chat we talked about the art exhibition, driving lessons and the birthday. *Love for God. Steve acknowledged God as his source and expressed His love for God through the way he loved people. In the last service Steve attended, Steve stood up and boldly walked to the pulpit and testified as he thanked God for life. As we see in Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven." Steve has lived a life in which God has been glorified. This is evident in the testimonies that have been shared and also in the numerous experiences that we have had with Steve. I thank God for the examplary life Steve has lived in the years. I also thank God for enabling the Mayende's for raising up Steve in the way of the Lord and I do pray that the Lord will comfort the entire Mayende family and guard their hearts with peace that surpasses all human understanding. I do pray that we shall continue to live as the salt and the light as the Lord enables us through the HolySpirit. Amen

*STEVE FORTUNE,* You were such a friend, a brother, a kind hearted person, selflessness was your character, you cared, you reminded everyone of the truth, you encouraged, you shared, you loved people, you were joy to everyone around you and *YOU LOVED GOD DEEPLY WITH ALL YOUR HEART* You are a true example of a life lived in fullness of LOVE; you always reminded us to *FORGIVE & FORGET*, you challenged us to *LOVE ONE ANOTHER DEEPLY FROM THE HEART* "1 Peter 4:8" which was one of your favourite Bible Verses: All you ever dreamt of becoming was a *PREACHER* because you wanted to serve God through Ministering to men; but God decided to call you to Himself and to serve him directly and praise him forever in eternity Now that our Heavenly Father, transitioned you into a life far much better than the flesh; God will indeed use the story of your life as *TESTIMONY* to draw many people to Himself Everything will remind me of you "that first VOICE calling through the window as i enter the gate everyday saying "JOB", welcome back!!!, how was your day!!have a nice day everyone morning as i walk out the gate!!, that VOICE calling at night before sleep just to say Goodnight to everyone at home!!! Just to mention but a few!!!You were indeed a blessing; i am already missing you!!! But yet God has taken you from the face of the earth!!! But in all this; am encouraged that you are with our father in HEAVEN because this is what the word of God assures us of *"We are convinced that even if these bodies we live in are folded up at death like tents, we will still have a God-built home that no human hands have built, which will last forever in the heavenly realm"* "2 Corinthians 5:1" Steve, i will forever miss you, but i know you're now rejoicing with the Angels in Heaven; see you when we meet again!!!! Love you
