Sally never wanted a funeral.. she wanted a party! While Covid restrictions have made that too difficult - we certainly hope you will share photos and memories here, as well as join her immediate family in sharing stories of her in our celebration of her life via Zoom on Tuesday, January 19th. Please be sure to read our notes about the event as well as the Zoom information at the bottom right! In lieu of flowers. we have included a list of charities to donate to that Sally would have supported and reflect her love of dance! Certainly feel free to donate on her behalf to any charity of your choice.

My mom used to take me to musicals all the time. We went to the Dallas Summer Musicals at State Fair Park for the traveling Broadway shows. At the end of every performance, she took the time to get me to the back stage entrance for autographs.. Just a few I recall are Florence Henderson for 'Annie Get Your Gun', Sandy Duncan for 'Peter Pan' and Carol Channing in 'Hello Dolly' (back when the stars also toured!), all wrote "thank you for coming to my show!" For movie premiers too.. I got a paw print from Benji from the movie premier 'Lassie Come Home' (Lassie was a snob and pranced right by, as did Rin Tin Tin), Terance Stamp for 'Superman II', and CP30 & R2D2 (Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker) for 'Empire Strikes Back'. When my family moved from Dallas to Prescott... all of those physical mementos were lost to bad dumpster decisions. However, the memories of how my mom opened up the world of music, dance and film will be with me forever and my life long love-affair with stage and musicals rests solely on her shoulders.

Well Susie, we had a good run; much as George and Gracie, or perhaps more like Molly and Fibber. You presented as proper and prim, so maybe some don't know that you had a more playful side. I remember that in the 1950s many ladies still wore white gloves, nylons, and silly hats to go shopping. One day, my high school buddies said that a group of girls from another high school had joined the Tenth Street cruise scene in a convertible and bathrobes. Several years later, I was lucky enough to wed one of the members of that 'scandalous' sleep-over group. By the way, you never told me, during our sixty years, why your high school nickname was Bubbles. Hmmmm? Your British sense of humor was sometimes problematic. In particular, I remember one April 1st, I 'mentioned' that San Francisco Bay was going to be drained, because it would be less expensive than rebuilding the five bridges spanning the bay and would allow more houses to be built. This raised your environmental ire, and you brought it up in a classroom civics discussion. Yeah, I guess I deserved the dog house for that. Like I said, we had a good run. You gave me sixty years of memories which would take another sixty years to recount. Save a place at the table for me.
