This announcement/obituary is to serve as the official statement from the family of Michael James Dees/aka Mikey Dees. Michael James Dees (Aka, Mikey Dees) of Olympia, Washington. Michael was born on October 3, 1970, in Flint, Michigan and passed away, at his home in Centrailia, Washington on June 3, 2019. He was the center of the Dees 3 and frontman to the band Fitz of Depression. He is survived by his children: Mike II and Veronica Dees, his ex-wife: Shannon, his parents: Jimmy Dees and Barbara Porria and his stepparents: Karan Dees and Daniel Porria, his sisters: Michele & Melissa, his step-siblings: Michele, Tammy & Larry. His nieces and nephews: Mikaila, Mikal, Emily, Johnny, Tristan, Mason, Hunter, Carter, Willie & Justine, his great-nieces: Jaelee, Adalee & Lillian Stardust, his paternal grandfather: Everett (Beverly) Dees, his maternal grandmother: Marion Flatt, his aunts, uncles, and cousins: Susanne (Rob, Kathi, Ed, Amy, Amanda) Katherine & Dave (Rachel), Liz (Armondo & Alejandro), Joanne (Morgan & Alex) Art & Lisa (Simon & Anthony), Denise (Tom, Scott, John & Brandon) Larry & Chris (Jennifer, Janell & Sarah). And never to go unmentioned, his loving friends that are famOly to us all and of course, his countless fans. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather; Arthur Flatt, his paternal grandmother; Peggy Dees, his cousins; Eric Byl & Jessie King, many aunts/uncles and far too many close friends over the years. To say he was a shining star doesn't even do him justice. He affected the lives of so many people around the world and is loved by so many. His soul is one that will truly, never be forgotten.
