Julie Dixon

January 25th, 1956 - February 16th, 2021

January 25th, 1956 - February 16th, 2021

Ms. Julie Dixon, beloved Mom and Grammy, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 65. Julie was born in Clinton, Illinois, on January 25, 1956 to Roy L. and Mary Lou Dixon. Julie was the youngest of three children, including sister Amy and brother Tom. Julie graduated from Arizona State University with an elementary education degree. However, she spent most of her career in Dallas in the oil and gas industry, working as a lease and title analyst, described by her peers as one of the best. While Julie was known for her diligence and attention to detail, she was also known by her co-workers as being a warm and genuine friend, developing many deep friendships which continued beyond her career. She was also loved dearly by close friends from so many different seasons of her life. High school friends ("the Six"), Bible study friends and most recently, ladies of the FFF group, all cherished her as a fun and unassuming, warm, beautiful friend. Julie's faith in Christ gave her strength through trials, and allowed her to use her experiences to help other women who faced similar challenges. She was a student of God's word, a prayer warrior, and found her deepest fulfillment in her relationship with Christ. Julie was an incredible mother and Grammy to Laura and son-in-law Andy, Jim, Jake, Max, and Annie. They were the pride of her life, and their lives will forever be better because of her encouragement, her belief in them, and her fierce love. Julie fulfilled a dream of hers by spending the years after retirement taking road trips and camping in an RV affectionately named "Aunt Peg." She was brave, adventurous and loved experiencing the beauty of life. Her family is devastated to lose her, but we are at peace knowing that she is living out her ultimate adventure with her Lord Jesus Christ. Julie is survived by her daughter Laura and son-in-law Andy, son Jim, sister Amy and brother-in-law Jon, and grandchildren, Jake, Max and Annie and nieces, Marisa, Kristin and Whitney.

I already miss my precious friend. The world is dimmer now....she was always a bright light with her warm heart, beautiful green eyes & infectious smile. We had many special times together & now I realize there should've been so many more. I'll always remember that we were together in Granbury the night that Princess Diana died. The time we spent a week in Aspen & the time we hacked golf balls all over the place at Watters Creek (where she launched a ball over a tree & right by the green....we were both shocked. Lol). Mostly though, it's all the lunches & dinners just sitting catching up & talking about God, life & the ills of the world. I so admired her strong Christian faith, her continual study of God's word; her love & pride of you kids & grandkids; her dedication of her profession for years; her knack for decorating & organization. I was a few months older than her, but always looked up to her. She was fun, sometimes funny, always kind & unassuming & a very good friend. I will always see her smile & hear her laugh forever in my memories. My deepest condolences to all of you. Love, Gwen

When I think about you my sweet friend I think about the love you had for your children and grandchildren. I don't think a time went by that we talked that you didn't mention them. Your eyes always twinkled and your smile was infectious. Our friendship was way too short but will always leave an impact on my heart. You would call me and say "I need to talk to someone level-headed" and I would laugh and tell you I had you fooled! We met through Meetup but our friendship went beyond that.I can still hear you saying, at all the Meetups you attended (244 to be exact) "I love you girls". You will be missed by so many. Condolences to all who loved you...
