Recuerdos

Seres queridos

Jane was a formidable force of nature. She was a great wife to both Robert and Geoff, a fab mother to Heather, Jessica, and Christopher, and a friend to many far and wide. Her life was full! Full of adventure, challenges, love and friendship. She was a committed Christian, living out her values in her actions, interactions and roles within the various churches she has been a part of. She has never been one to sit at the back or on the sidelines and be a shrinking wallflower, and the hole that she leaves in all our lives will be massive. It will look different to each person, but it will be real. We are desperately sad that she is no longer walking around with us, telling us her opinions, but we are glad that we got to spend the time we did with her and to understand a little bit of her world. We will miss you Mum, much love………..

Jane has been the most amazing friend throughout my life since we met at secondary school aged 11. Whether we were miles apart, in different countries or relatively near by, I knew Jane was always there for me. Whenever we met up, no matter how long since the last time, it was like we'd never been apart. I have lovely, happy memories of times shared with Jane - travelling a vast chunk of the canal system whilst we were both studying for our final exams; an amazing week in Madeira, just the two of us and a family visit when I lived in Germany and our children were all very young. I will miss her support, her sensible advice, her positive outlook on life, her generosity of time, talents and love, her smile and her company. Rest in peace Jane My love and prayers to Robert and her family

Jane has been part of my life since I started dating Chris at 16 years old, nearly 25 years ago. I don't really remember the first meeting of "the prospective mother-in-law" which I think means that, in typical Jane fashion, she probably just accepted me into the family fold straight away and I became part of the furniture! I was always amazed by her vast array of skills, from cooking to DIY to sewing to painting. She whipped up lemon meringue pies at a moment's notice, she sewed hundreds of tiny beads onto our bridesmaids dresses during quiet moments on her nursing night shifts, hoicked sofas and boxes helping us move house, and I love looking at the mini art exhibition that is her and Robert's home, displaying all her wonderfully creative and varied (and sometimes crazy!) projects. There are so many memories over nearly 25 years it's hard to pick a handful but some of my stand-outs are: water-skiing behind Jane's speedboat at the timeshare chalet in Scotland (especially one particularly close encounter with a vicious swan we started calling Raving Madeye McSwanton), playing silly games like Balderdash, Flummoxed and the After Eight game, having a good old boogie at any wedding disco, and the time I phoned Jane in a blind panic because the car she had kindly loaned me to go to my university placement broke down the first time I drove it, and a misunderstanding meant I wasn't covered by her or my parents' breakdown cover, so she suggested I pretend to be Jess so that the AA would come and rescue me! She was fearless, tenacious, caring, crazy and a little bit naughty, and I will miss so much about "mummy Jane".

My lovely Christian friend Jane who was full of love, kindness and compassion. A very special lady with a golden voice, a fabulous cook and a great sense of humour. Greek lessons wouldn’t be the same without you. I will miss you and will keep Robert and your family in my prayers

Just heard this sad news. Thoughts and prayers for the whole family. Jane was a great support to me in a time of need and ill health. Zooming me into A and E and getting me seen pronto....she was a force to be reckoned with at times. She gave me her special recipe for vegetarian sausage rolls which I still regularly make.

Jane Williams

I met Jane when we both started Infant school at the age of 4! We stayed friends all our lives and although there were times when we lost contact, when we connected again it was as if we'd always been in touch. It was my privilege to be in the same Youth group at Cambray Baptist church Cheltenham, when Jane became a Christian. She was a lovely, lovely person as a child, teenager and adult, with an enormous zest for life, an infectious laugh and a delightful empathy and care for other people. Much loved, much missed xx
