I've tried for weeks to let this sink in, and it seems to be more unfair everyday. Jake was without a doubt one of the best people I've had the privilege of knowing. We met in middle school and sometimes lost touch, but our friendship picked up where it left off every time we reunited. He was always so positive and encouraging, it was no wonder why when in his presence there was nothing but good times. Trips to the mountains, concerts, and sometimes just kicking back having a beer was always fun with him. I can't thank him enough for all the advice, encouragement and positive outlook he always gave me and my kids. My most sincere condolences go out to Bill, Robin, Morgan, Francine and all his closest friends who were his extended family. Jake, you are truly missed. I'll see you when I get there old friend.

It sticks with me that John only met Jake once but they had one of those nights full of all those deep conversations that we’ve all had with Jake multiple times over the years. I don’t like sticking compliments where they don’t match. But Jake IS the person who allowed for all the good, warm, open, seeking, loving, accepting, questioning moments we can’t have with many people. I hope we can keep that part of him alive in us and find a way to make a new person in a social situation feel seen and accepted

Bill Robin you guy are Two of my dearest and oldest friends. I have known Bill and his entire family heck since I was born. I remember Bill telling me about Robin and jake. He was so very very happy! The words to speak or to write down here don’t compare to how sad this is. My heart breaks when this comes to mind. Bill is so strong, I just don’t know how he does it. I think the word Papa makes so much difference. Those granddaughters are so precious!!!!! I know from my losses in life that God Carry’s us when we loose someone so close to our heart. I wish I had a magic wand to make it all go away. But as I get on my knees, the tears flow and it makes it hard to pray, but I know for that when I come to God so sincerely he not only hears but responds. He will heal your hearts! Love you both more than my words can say!!
