I have been thinking about you and realized I had not heard from you lately. So, I sent you a text and saw that you did not respond to my texts wishing you Happy Thanksgiving and Happy New Year. That is so unlike you. How dare you ignore me like that, lol! I had this same feeling with another good friend that ghosted me a couple of years ago and found out he passed suddenly from a heart attack. I decided to check your Facebook page to see if you have been posting recently. Well, you have not, but those that loved you so much have. My heart dropped when I realized you were gone buddy. I am selfishly saddened by the news. You were a good friend and a good man. You always cared about how my life was going. You passed only 2 weeks after our last text chat on Halloween. You said things were worsening, but in typical Greg Hicks fashion, you did not want the focus to be on you. I wish I would have known it was that bad. I will cherish the times we shared, especially our last time together at your beloved Chargers preseason game against my Seahawks. Sorry we beat you! I don't know what more I can say that many others have not already. You, my friend, loved deeply and truly. I know that you will be doing so much more good in heaven watching over us. I miss you and will cherish the memories. Rest in Peace Greg. I love you brother!

We'll miss you dearly, Greg! Your bond with my mom taught me the real meaning of friendship. Thank you for lighting up our lives with your infectious spirit, your endless optimism, and your unfailing ability to be always be there for us when it mattered most. You were one of a kind and the world won't be the same without you in it.

When I think of Greg, I always think of a happy, laughing, kind hearted man! He was the first to order Thin Mints when my girls were selling Girl Scout cookies! He always enjoyed running the Super Bowl pool. He had a light that surrounded him
