My husband and I had the pleasure of having Al as our neighbor when we lived in Austin, TX. We haven't had an amazing neighbor and friend since. Al was a dog lover just like us, and we grew our friendship over dogs, apartment woes, and life. He would make time to chat, catch up, and I always left our conversation with a smile. In 2021 Texas had the big freeze and a pipe busted in our apartment while we were out of town. Al spent the better part of his evening trying to sweep all the water out as is gushed out our front door. We had just started relocating to Houston, and our belongings would have been ruined if not for his help. After we moved, we kept in touch, and he would rave about moving back to Hawaii to be with family. My husband and I will never forget Al, his kindness, and his ability to keep it real! I just lost my father less than a year ago, and my heart goes out to his children and family. I don't know how each of you feel, but I know how it feels, and I send you all the positive light in the world, and you grieve your father. Al always spoke so highly of his kids, and it warms my heart he was able to be surrounded by family in his final days. We will miss him and honor him.

Family members and friends from the great state of Texas send along heartfelt feelings and are mourning the loss of my Father, Al Belmarez. His journey from the small Texas town of Seguin, to the sun-kissed beaches of Hawaii, my father Al encountered numerous people and was a friend to every one of them..he never met a stranger. As I send along this message, I think of the twins and the effort they put in to make this online portal available so that all may share in the celebration of life for a man who was my father, and a friend to many.

Although our time together was brief, it was truly memorable. Al was the kind of person who could make you feel like you've known him for years. His quick wit, generous spirit, and ability to find humor in just about any situation made every conversation enjoyable. I am grateful our paths crossed, and I will always remember the laughs, stories, and camaraderie we shared. Given Al's passion for real estate, I'd like to think that when he arrived at Heaven's gates, he immediately started asking Saint Peter about available listings, lot sizes, and whether there were any prime properties with a view. If anyone could negotiate a corner lot among the clouds, it was Al. Of course, that assumes Saint Peter could understand Spanish well enough to keep up with him. Rest in peace, Al. I'll always remember our time together at what we often joked was the world's worst brokerage house. Despite the circumstances, the laughs, jokes, and friendship we shared made those days worthwhile. You will be missed, but never forgotten. Hasta que nos veamos de nuevo, amigo. P.S. I tried to find a skateboard-style font for this tribute, Al, but I quickly realized our old broker must have had exclusive access to the world's ugliest font collection.

My deepest condolences to the Belmarez family. Al loved you all immensely and always spoke so proudly of each of you. Al was one of those rare people who genuinely cared about others. He knew my family and always asked how they were doing, including our dog, Ollie. We met at work and quickly became friends. Through the years, we were always there for each other with advice, support, and most importantly, laughter. Al had the best laugh! We shared a love of UT football, and even after he moved to Hawaii, we’d sometimes call each other during games to celebrate the good plays and complain about the bad ones. Those are memories I’ll always cherish. Al was intelligent, funny, and full of wonderful stories about his music, his hometown of Seguin, and life. He had a way of making everyone feel like an old friend. I’m grateful for the years of friendship, laughter, and memories. I’m glad there is no more pain, and I know you’re already up there making new friends. Until we meet again, mi amigo. Rest in peace. ❤️

Al Belmarez is my first cousin. He was 17 years older and I was the rice girl in his 1st marriage. Our grandfather Our father's and our uncle were all talented musicians and played music by ear and sound not by music sheets. The four men had an orchestra Belmarez orchestra when Al and I were young and played for weddings and dances in the Seguin area. So happy to see the inheritance lives on through his offspring. I was closer to Brian and Brett but knew his twins. The 4 boys are very smart, good genes. Loved my cousin and sending condolences to his family and friends. RIP you will truly be missed.

Beautiful message from Joel. He spoke from his heart and, most importantly, his words about Al brought his life back to us. As he was speaking, his words seemed to turn into wonderful visual moments and memories, allowing everyone who knew him to see and feel Al as if he were in the room sitting right next to you. Bless the Belmarez family during this difficult time, and always remember he is still with you. Nanette West
