Sharon Powell was born August 7, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to Chauncey Powell Sr and Zella Powell. She fell asleep in death on June 2, 2024 at the age of 73. Sharon was the oldest of three children, brother Chauncey Powell Jr. (deceased) and sister Brenda Powell Riddley (spouse Thomas Riddley). She is survived by two nephews, Terrell Powell and Donovan Riddley (spouse Destiny Riddley), two nieces, Courtney Dueñez (spouse Gabriel Dueñez) and Brittany Riddley, two great nephews Miguel Riddley and Jordan Dueñez. Plus, many more aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sharon loved her family and friends. She was a jokester, for those she cared about, she gave endearing nicknames (her famous ones were knucklehead, bonehead, and pork chop), the nickname was accompanied by a laugh and a tender pinch of the nose or either a balled up fist. First and foremost, Sharon loved serving Jehovah. She dedicated her life to Jehovah by water baptism in 1976 and has faithfully served him for 38 years. She auxiliary pioneered and served in the foreign language congregation and enjoyed commenting at the meetings.

Sharon enjoyed dancing. If she heard Motown music, she was one of the first ones to the dance floor. She also enjoyed traveling, fishing and watching cowboy movies.

Sharon had a heart of gold. Let’s hold on to the beautiful memories of her and her big smile. Let's make it a goal to be there in the promised earthly paradise to come to welcome her back.  This is not goodbye, but see you again soon, Sharon!

Revelation 21:4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more….The former things have passed away.

Sharon was a bright light to me even when we were little. She always had a smile on her face. Knew she loved you. You couldn’t say anything negative about her even if you wanted to. Even though we lived a distance, it felt white. She was right there. Close by. She was more A sister than a cousin. Sharon, Brenda and Butchy More like brother and sister and always will be. I’ll see you Sharon and Butchy Later on, I know you guys are having a lot more fun right now no more hurt no more pain. Love you guys always.

Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. In the face of loss, I find strength in the memories created with Sharon ( my ex sister in law) who enjoyed new life experiences. Her expressions of care …knucklehead, bonehead, pork chop all add to her humble and cheerful nature. “Thank you for our beautiful memories Sharon, there is no such thing as separation, ours and your relationships with others was transformed by one single ingredient … LOVE” Brenda and Family: With love and rememberance I share your sorrow… Jehovah is the God of all comfort, while words fail to capture your pain, imagine the JOY of having our Heavenly Father return your dear one to you.
