Janet Lowman Fox, age 83, of Worthington, died March 16, 2020 in Worthington Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald K Fox. Janet is survived by 3 sons; Warren of San Diego, CA, Clark of Denver, CO, and Jonathan of Chiang Mai, Thailand; granddaughters Olivia and Annalise Fox; and siblings Judy Jones, John "Phil" Lowman, and Jeff Lowman. Janet was a graduate of Worthington High School, and The Ohio State University (BA) where she met her husband, Don. She was a member of the Worthington United Methodist Church and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Janet was born in Worthington and lived most of her life there. She and Don married upon graduation from OSU and settled in Worthington in 1970 where they raised their three sons. They traveled the world extensively together, and Janet continued her travels throughout her remaining years visiting 36 countries. Janet visited son Warren in San Diego for 15 straight years during late October, spanning Halloween and Warren's anniversary. She loved helping her young granddaughters prepare for Halloween festivities, and she enjoyed handing out treats to the young beggars at the door. She also babysat, and perhaps spoiled them a bit, when Warren and his wife spent a few days away for their anniversary. Janet also visited son Clark in Denver routinely during the warmer months, preferring exotic mountain locales such as Estes Park, Aspen, Lake City and Creede over life in the city. Jeep rides, hikes, and beautiful mountain vistas were the norm. While in Denver there were no shortage of lovable dogs of all breeds at the Fox household, predominantly chihuahuas, to keep her entertained. When added up, Janet spent over two years of her life in both Honolulu and Thailand visiting her son Jonathan and helping him run his furniture businesses. Her Sundays were spent eating Sunday brunch under the famous Banyan tree in the back of the Moana Hotel before driving around the Island to the North Shore to watch the sun set. She also liked going to University of Hawaii Women's Volleyball games and the Punahou Carnival. In Thailand, she liked Chiang Mai and the Chiang Rai's flower festivals, trying different Thai cuisines and visiting Temples. A memorial service will be held the afternoon of September 6, 2020 at the Worthington United Methodist Church. Details will follow as the time approaches.

Janet was a wonderful Grandma to Olivia and Annalise. She loved her granddaughters dearly, and came to visit them as often as she could. She would spend time coloring with them, playing games, taking walks, and most importantly listening to them as only a grandma can. I appreciated all of Janet's help with the girls, especially when she stayed with them so that Warren and I could get away by ourselves for a few days. She will be missed by us all. I'm thinking that she and Don are dancing and singing happily somewhere together!

My favorite photo of my mom, taken on September 2, 2006 at the Rio Grande Pyramid overlook on Highway 149 about halfway between Lake City and Creede, CO (exact location depicted on Google Earth screenshot). That morning I had run the 22-mile Creede Mountain Run and ended up on my hands and knees in the park at the finish. She was there to pick me up, and we enjoyed an ice cream and other goodies in the park before heading up to this point. She visited several other years on the same weekend whereby I may have ended up on my knees (again), and so on - you get the picture. Even when she wasn't with me I always stopped here whenever I was nearby and forwarded her another photo, as it was her (our) favorite view in Colorado. Endless. Just like my love for her and likewise. I plan to spread some of her ashes here this summer, and subsequently, some more on the summit of the Rio Grande Pyramid (an adventure in itself as it's 22+ miles roundtrip from the trailhead). Pictures to follow... 😇

Quick note to visitors/guests - this is an interactive website (re: think Facebook), and is very much just a work in progress at this point. We will be actively adding content as we go (pictures, videos, etc...) and you are welcome to do the same. Thanks again for being part of Janet's life!
