But the hardest is having dad without you. But you asked me not to long ago, to make sure we take care of dad, keep him busy, get him hunting again. Not sure if you knew anything at that point. I'm so grateful we broke the rules at the hospital on Wednesday night with about 12 of us in the room for all of us to see you. To see you smile when you saw all your sisters and brother was priceless. And you were still worried about Aunt Dorothy and told her dad would continue taking care of her. I love that you had a special moment with each of my kids. And I was grateful you were able to talk with Frank and I at the end as well. I am sorry I wasn't their at the end, I really want to be with you and hold you hand. but I think now this is what you wanted. Just you and dad in those final moments. The next morning we had brian visit, it's honestly felt like you were watching by our side the whole time. I know things will never be the same and it will take time to get use to things without you but I know you will always be with us, looking down on us watching everything we do, so to remind my kids, my niece and nephew, grandma loves you more than anything. You were always her first priority so please remember grandma is always watching, and remember what she said "you just need to look up and I will be there watching over you"

In November I ran into Brian and Peggy while shopping at Costco. She was so excited about their upcoming trip to Wild Horse Casino in Pendleton. I always enjoyed how excited she got about her gambling trips and was lucky to go on a couple with her to our local casinos. The other times her face would light up would be when she spoke about her family, she loved them all very much. I was blessed to be able to call Peggy a friend and my heart breaks for her family who I know miss her tremendously. I know she'll be watching over you and like always, so very proud of you all. Love and miss you Peggy! Dawn

I knew at some point I would have to write words about you. Never did I think it would be so soon. I hate that I never have you here for any births of your great grandchildren or weddings of your grandkids. You should be here to experience these moments and especially with me. I remember sitting with you at nights while you would take baths and we would talk about your childhood. About the times when your were stuck watching her sibling and all the trouble they would get into, and how Big Grandma taking you away on weekends so you could get a break from your younger siblings then to meeting dad in high school. You worked hard throughout my whole childhood, but that also gave me the opportunity to spend more time with my grandmother which I am forever grateful. This made me grateful for the simple dinners of Mac and cheese with mustard, cheese omelette and your grilled cheese sandwiches. You were a great mom but even better grandma. You completely spoiled the grandkid. Even when we went to Sea World, Justine decide to play in the water park structure and got completely wet. We told her would have to ride the 2 hours bus back to the hotel in wet clothes but nope, you iuook her into the gift shop and got her all new clothes and a bath towels. So Justine won out on that visit. I'm so grateful for all the family vacations, from Disneyland, Seattle, the coast, to our last trip will all of us was in a 12 passenger van to San Francisco. We had a wonderful time visiting Winchester house ( for gillian and Joey) Great for America ( for Ari, And Justine) The Hornet ( dad and Frank especially when they had it filled with Jeep's) and Alcatraz for Brian) When Mom was working at State Farm she would always take my sister and i when we were little to the Xmas party, fashion shows and Easter egg hunts. Then once the grand babies were born she took them too. When the office was closing she decided to wait to the end to get her severance package. She wanted that last year paid so she could take her family to Disneyland once again. The last trip to Disneyland with my kids she got so sick but refused to leave to finish the vacation. She ended up staying in the room so the rest of the family could continue to have fun. Once she retired, it became the big debate on when to take that severance vacation, Brian still had sports but Grandma said she didn't think she could keep Joey and Justine waiting any longer. I look back and we should have never waited. Dad booked the trip to bring the younger kids but then COVID hit and Disneyland actually shut down. It actually took Disneyland shutting down to stop her from taking the trip. Even after that she was still planning on going. My parents have been together since they were 15, and you don't have my mom without my dad. They just recently celebrated their 47th. I'm grateful for the last couple of years when she did get some retirement. They did spent it checking out the different casino around Oregon or going to see multiple movies. Most of their free time in the evening or on the weekend was devoted to the grandchildren. She went to all of gillian concerts and plays and even after Gillian graduated she continued to take her to plays at the school. She then made sure they made it to almost all of Justine basketball games and volleyball games when she played those. Then she made sure to didn't miss Brian football games or it would be dad saying no because the weather was so bad and even towards the end she still came and hiding und umbrella and tarps. She also attending his track meets as well and went all the way to Bend to see him take 2nd place at district. She was very proud of him that day. She also love to attended the basketball games as well. She would also get pretty roundly when a call was mad that she didn't think was fair. She made sure the refs heard all about it. She would get so loud and of course I would join her embracing my dad, but that never stopped her especially if it was something about Brian or Justine. Then she also had Joey and Ari games on the weekends too. I'm will miss the simple things as well. Like helping me with the camping lists and meals, to watching movies, or taking the kids to see new movies, tv shows with Gilian, also for the many hours of driving gillian down to linn Benton for college classes when the roads were icy. And then all the foods you would make from your cheese ball, fruit drip, cheese potatoes, breakfast burritos, green salad, Frank's favorite crescent cookies, those are the moments that will be missed the most. Or talking about the housewives tv show or any shows with me, my sister, gillian or her sisters.

Peggy was my best friend all thru Junior High and High School. We would walk to and from each others house all the time and think nothing of it, even tho' it was quite a long way. We picked strawberries and beans together and that's where we would meet all the boys. Riding the bus together was a blast! I don't think I have ever laughed so hard at some of the craziest things! Any and every thing was always so much fun. I was even her Matron of Honor at her and Brian's wedding. Her Mom made all the dresses we wore. What a great day that was! She was so pretty, happy and in love with Brian! She wanted, and could hardly wait, to spend the rest of her life with him. She, and her family, were so looking forward to her new future. I was also very happy for all of them! Her family made you feel so comfortable, included and so thankful to be there, She was such a caring and thoughtful girl. I was always grateful to be included with all of them. Peggy will be missed by many, together with the joy she always brought to everyone she knew. She was one in a million and made this world a better place. I am thankful to have had her in my life. Dee-Dee Nettleton
