David was born in the UK and became a US Citizen in February 2020. He loved his wife Vicki, their dog Oliver, York City FC, cricket, baseball and ice hockey amongst other things. He leaves a big David shaped hole in their hearts and will be loved by them forever.

I was so very sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I went to college with Dave in York in the early nineties and pretty soon after arriving a group friendship formed of around 8 of us. We stayed tight for the 2 years we were at college. Many nights out in the pubs and clubs of York and numerous trips to watch Sheffield Wednesday. A few memorable trips with college, highlights being a day trip to the Metro centre and a few days in Brussels. Dave was truly a lovely lad, a gentle soul and whilst I lost contact with him after we left college, it's clear he forged a clear path for himself and I can only imagine how happy he was to move to The States and indulge in all things US sport related. My heart goes out to all who knew him, particularly Vicky. Rest in Peace Grimbo.

David was one of the most talented individuals I have ever had the opportunity and pleasure to work with. He was also a very good person. He was someone you could count on. I will miss our conversations which were always enjoyable. I will also miss his humor and good spirits.

I first met David when he started working at British Gas. He became my commuter buddy as we both lived in Selby, North Yorkshire. Always had a laugh and after I learnt to drive he would supply the music for the journey. I've still got a load of CDs he 'copied' for me. He endured my singing, for which I'm grateful. Really great memories from that time and of David and Vickis wedding. Rest well David xx

So many good memories working with Dave at British Gas. Some stand outs are the time we got a reet bollocking from our manager for not preparing properly for a month end Having 2 little boys as an ear worm for months and singing it endlessly with Pete Williams in the office Every York races we all went to! He was also my study buddy for our CIMA exams and we’d sometimes spend college lunchtimes in the pub and not go back for the afternoon classes

David was not only one of the best co-workers I have ever had the pleasure to work along side, he was a wonderful and trusted friend. He was someone I could always count on for advice whether it be personally or professionally - I greatly respected his opinion. His talent is next to irreplaceable, he was a genius in his craft. I will truly miss his humor, his perspective, being able to vent to him about life, his genius here at work and his friendship. DG - Miss you buddy <3
