Obituary for Frederick R. Bornemann

Frederick R. Bornemann, 59, of Enfield, CT, passed away on September 9, 2025.

Fred had a unique gift for seeing himself in others, which gave him a deep compassion for those carrying burdens or “a broken wing.” Sensitive to the struggles of the world, he carried a fragile shield but a strong heart, always ready to help someone in need. If you were fortunate enough to call Fred your friend, you knew the rare loyalty and kindness he offered so freely.

Raised by hardworking parents who instilled in him a strong work ethic, Fred shined brightest in his career. Intelligent and resourceful, with a natural problem-solving mind, he often went above and beyond his role to serve others. Since his passing, his employer has received an outpouring of letters filled with praise and gratitude for his dedication.

Representative of these messages, one client shared: “Fred was not only a knowledgeable and dedicated professional, but also a pleasure to work with. His genuine commitment to supporting his customers and building strong relationships was evident in every interaction. He will be deeply missed by all of us who had the opportunity to work with him.”

Fred’s dedication and achievements earned him an invitation to the 2025 President’s Trip, in recognition of successfully meeting his 2024 parts and service plan. He took great pride in his work, and when he spoke about his profession, he truly beamed.

Fred is survived by his sister, Yvette; niece, Emma; brother-in-law, Evan; and his beloved bonus daughter, Cierra, along with many close and cherished friends including Debbie, Step son - Alex, Kelly, Melissa, Destiny, and Daniel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick B. and Hanny Bornemann.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Fred’s memory to the  Frederick R Memorial Fund or the Fred Bornemann Memorial Cierra Education Fund

.

Fred will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

It has taken me some time to find the words, as my heart has been heavy with grief since your passing. For many years you were my husband and Alex’s stepfather, and the bond we shared is a part of us that will always remain. I will forever remember the laughter we shared, the projects we tackled side by side, and the joy of creating - from remodeling the kitchen ourselves to fixing whatever was broken. You taught more than skills - you taught patience, curiosity, and the joy of discovery. You had a way of making everyday life an adventure. Your intelligence, work ethic, and resourcefulness left an imprint on both Alex and me. I see pieces of you in Alex every day - in his humor, his expressions, and the way he carries himself. Those parts of you live on, a gentle, living echo of the man who shaped our lives so deeply. I will always treasure our fishing trips, our explorations, our teamwork, and the countless small moments that made our life brighter. Fred, despite the complexities of life - I will remember the man who shared love, laughter, and knowledge so freely. Your presence, your lessons, and your spirit will remain with us forever. Holding you in our memories, Deb and Alex

My sincere condolences to Fred's family. I had the pleasure of assisting Fred when he first started with our Cold Jet family. I have assisted with many others over the years & when I was introduced to Fred we connected immediately. I knew we hit the "jackpot" because his knowledge, experience & most of all his ability to connect with people. Over the last couple years Fred & I spent time together & had conversations daily. He thrived to help people & always offered something to make the worst days better to anyone who he felt needed it. Not only was Fred a great CJ team & family member he was my friend!

Our family is deeply saddened by Fred’s passing. I had the privilege of knowing him as my brother-in-law for many years, and he always felt like part of the family. I will always treasure our trips to New York City. He could navigate the streets and always find the best places to eat. Fred was like a walking encyclopedia and he was able to fix anything or figure it out if he didn’t know how. He stood by his word and he brought fun to family gatherings. He intrigued everyone with his knowledge. I will never forget the conversations we shared over the years. I will never forget the great memories I had with him. Forever in our hearts, Diane

My condolences and heart felt wishes go out to the family of Fred. I met Fred as a new ColdJet customer looking for help and an understanding of my new product. I was lucky to find the right man for guidance and expertise. One phone call turned into many lengthy calls and a few lunch meetings to share stories and a tasty NY corned beef sandwich. Fred was a classic throwback of a salesman who you could trust from the second you met him and delivered on a his promises and friendship. He will be remembered by all that knew him! Mitch
