North Canaan, CT - Yvonne (Belanger) Wildgoose, 91, of 99 South Canaan Road, formerly of Lincoln and Smithfield, RI, died September 18, 2021 at the Geer Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in North Canaan, CT. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Wildgoose. Yvonne was born July 5, 1930 in Pawtucket, RI, daughter of the late Edward and Yvonne (LaPlante) Belanger. Yvonne and her husband both worked in the public school system. Lawrence taught Science in the Town of Lincoln Middle School until his death many years ago. Yvonne taught Typing and worked in the library of Davies Vocational Technical School. For several years, she also held a second job on evenings and weekends as a store clerk in Pawtucket. Yvonne was a communicant of the Catholic Church. She was devoted to her family and loved to cook, especially pastries. She also loved to clean her home. Really! And she loved to take her elderly relatives on long Sunday rides where they would inevitably get lost. She liked that too. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket, RI 02862. A burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI. Friends and family will gather for a luncheon in her honor afterwards. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Geer Foundation, 99 South Canaan Road, Canaan, CT 06018 or at geercares.org/donate. Arrangements are under the care of The Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home, 118 Main St., Canaan, CT 06018.
