Prosenjit Ganguli, or PG as we fondly remember him left us in a cruel twist of fate on 05th Nov 2020.
Shocking to believe and fathom, we remember PG in our own ways. A friend, a philosopher, a creative genuis, the sense of humorm the compassionate person and much much more.

I remember PG as that tall lanky young man in college with a generous smile. Rekha our dear friend and batchmate who went on to marry him and be there with him and for him as wife soulmate and friend told us an incredible story of their romance Abd PGs incredible proposal. You will live on Prosenjit through your wonderful young sons and as Rekha’s cherished memories. We will miss you PG

Though my interactions were limited, I admired PG for his Creativity, Camaraderie, Compassion, Confidence, Conviction and Courage..... After leaving college, we shared a few interesting occasions of adventure together in the field circa 1996, and then almost exactly a year ago, he took us for a whirlwind afternoon tour of Calcutta. He made us (self and my wife, who had met him for the first time!) feel on top of the world when he took us to the rooftop of the tallest building in Calcutta, and proudly showed us the skyline of the city he so loved... An eminently resourceful person, elegant and full of zest for life... It is a tragic loss for our batch and for several people who were in his large social and professional circles... "INSPIRATIONAL" is how I would describe the few times we spent together...

PG & I went back slightly before I joined AFMC. Our common AMC parentage led us to meet each other in 1998. He was excited about college & everything else and soon I was to discover that it was so with ALL things that he was involved in. My association with him spread across Quizzing, Med - Cine, Alcohol induced night outs discussing bull shit, an unforgettable scuffle on MG Road with Wonderland shopkeepers, his being the DMO @ AHRR the day our team was getting back casualties from Kabul in 2010, our forays into USI together to try n act as if we understood strategy n tactics and on and on. Too many memories, too many tears. Tragic loss. Deeply deeply disturbing. RIP PG. U will be missed more than you could ever know.

PG was a sterling guy who was so full of raw intellectual energy. It was a shock to hear of his demise. He had so much potential and promise and his untimely death just makes one wonder how transient life is. PG lived many lifetimes in his life thanks to his versatile mind bordering on genius. I used to look up to him for inspiration as he was erudite and an avid quizzer who could hold forth on a wide variety of topics. He could talk the hind legs off a donkey. Whenever I used to get into an elevator I would always be reminded of the story of how he married Rekha a batchmate after he rescued her from an elevator that was stuck. I have lost count of how many times I have told that story as an example of how a crisis situation can bring together different destinies. I hope Rekha and their two boys find strength and courage to overcome their irreparable loss. As a group, I think we are all experiencing a crisis now with PG's passing. Now it is the time to reach out and support each other to heal the hurt and pain of an untimely departure of a dear friend. May God give us all strength!
