Obituary For Kim Patrice Greene [https://www.bellefontainecemetery.org/obituaries?name=kim-patrice-greene]

Today, we honor the life of Kim Patrice Greene.

She was a loving Mother to William and Dorothy Greene. Beloved Sister to Beth Ann Key and beloved Aunt to Niece Emma Key. And of course Dog Mom to Boo.

She was born to father, Patrick Greene and mother, Patricia Jane Greene (m. Morris). Not far behind was her younger sister, Beth Ann Greene. Native to South Bend, Indiana, Kim was raised in a loving Catholic family.

From birth she was always a joyful, social butterfly. She had no problem meeting new people and making friends. This quality played a major role throughout her life.

High school, she had a core group of friends. They created memories together and helped shape her into the person she would become. Although life may have created physical distance, they kept in touch until this very day.

College is what led her to St. Louis. She graduated from Northeast Missouri University with a bachelor in Science. Kim was extremely talented and intelligent. Blessed with beauty and brains, she was able to further explore her interests. For example she enjoyed creative writing, journaling, and poetry. She even had some of her writing published in the school newspaper.

Not only did she earn a degree, but gained a life long friend along the way, who stayed by her side until the end.

Kim built a beautiful life for herself in St. Louis. Once settled in, Kim became a social worker. She’s always loved children. She wanted to be involved with them in anyway she could. A true nurturing spirit. Helping children in need was her calling. From there, she became a foster-parent. One faithful day, she received a call from her agency asking if she wanted to foster a newborn baby boy named William. She gladly accepted.

Time passed, and the agency called again. This time, about taking in William’s sister Dorothy. She accepted again without hesitation. According to her, that’s when her life truly began. She adopted both children officially, around the ages of about 4 and 5. Adoption Day, as she would call it, was of the best days of her life.

Kim lived her life to the fullest. Always looked for ways to improve other people’s lives and bring them joy. Whether it was a hand-made gift or a meal made from scratch… she was always giving. She will be remembered as an amazing mom devoted to her children. She was loved and will be missed by many.

Here are some fun facts about Kim: She had many interests and hobbies. She loved working with children. She used to have a day where she would make Christmas cookies with children of family and friends. She used to make jewelry for craft shows. Did woodworking with Santa during the holidays for a time.

Loved all things plants and gardening. Had extensive music collection, including the Beatles and Carol King. Obsessed with Star Trek, especially John Luke Piccard. Painted and Stenciled her own furniture. For those who’d like to attend her funeral ceremony:

Burial Service will be on Tuesday 10/13/26 at 10am. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
