GRAVESITE HOMEGOING SERVICE - SPRING GROVE CEMETERY - Nov. 13, 2020
By Pastor Starr Groff
For Jane who now is among that great cloud of witnesses in the heavens I say ‘Hallelujah’ my dear friend and sister in the Lord you have been released from that earthly body and in the PRESENCE OF THE LORD. What a blessing!
Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. The Lord Jesus loves it when His Saints, His servants, come home.
I met Jane nearly 20 years ago when she attended the Bible Teachers International World Conference. During that time she became a member of BT, as she always called it, and we became her church and ministry. Her love for Bible Teachers can be seen by the many thousands of members around the world sending in condolences and their love for Jane. Through the years my relationship grew with Jane as a pastor, teachers and counselor. She virtually connected with members weekly for years via her computer and traveled often to our conferences and gatherings. Jane loved the Word of God, as well as her church and ministry and she continued her evangelistic outpouring after she became ill and had to be homebound. Her home became a mission field for everyone and because of her fruit, she was ordained an Evangelist.
For those who are attending this service, let me say, I asked the Lord, “Lord why did you allow this Covid Virus to take Jane home? The Lord’s answer to me was “it was not Covid, it was ME. I took her last breath. Just as I took away her caregivers these last 2 weeks one by one, I MYSELF watched over Jane, smoothed her pillows, sustained her heart and prepared her for my coming to receive her soul. I determined Jane’s homegoing long before she was even born into this world. My redeemed are precious to me and I delight in bringing them home.
Because Jane answered the call and gave her heart and soul to the Lord, her purpose in this world was completed. The Lord made a new home with His hands, eternal in the heavens.
Enjoy your home with the Lord Jane. You were chosen and pre-ordained to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to your family, your friends, your co-workers, nurses and hundreds of caregivers all of which populated your home for many, many years.
As an evangelist ordained by God, Jane accepted the call from the Lord Jesus and ran her race. And what a race! We observed and experienced Jane’s faith, her strength, her stamina, her patience and her love. She fought a good fight and finished her course. Jane’s family, friends and Bible Teachers International has lost a precious soldier for the Lord.
Jane’s favorite scripture is John 3:16 For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting. ... For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
And, if Jane was here today, she would simply ask all those present, “Have you accepted our Savior, Jesus Christ, into your heart?” If not, know that if you ask Him, He will come into your heart today.

Jane and I met for several years to discuss her work, family, and relationship with Christ. Her interest in evangelism was strong and came out in many ways. Jane struggled with concerns that she was not working hard enough for the Lord and it bothered her a great deal. One day she told me that she had led her mother to the Lord and I inwardly rejoiced. It showed me that she was gifted as an evangelist and God was leading her to witness to the right people. She might not be like Billy Graham and preach to millions but God was using her to witness to specific people. As we discussed the different ways God gifted people she was seemingly free to be who God had made her and she found BT as a place where she could use her gifts.
