Loved Ones

James Earl Platt, affectionately known to many as Jamie or Jim, age 74, fell asleep in death peacefully in his sleep, on October 23, 2020 while under Hospice Care. Jim was born on June 2, 1946 in Niagara Falls, NY.

He dedicated his life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on April 8, 1973. Jim was a spiritual man who served as an elder, regular pioneer and a volunteer with the RBC for Kingdom Hall construction. Jim was a loving husband, father, and provider. Jim and his family were associated with many congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses through the years from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, to Florida and with the Lake Catherine Congregation for the last 5 years.

Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Delene, their 4 children, daughters Deidre and Rachel and sons Joshua and James. Sons in law Bob and David, daughters in law Stephanie and Amanda. Jim adored being Bubba to his 4 grandchildren Aidan, Lincoln, Isla and Tilly.

Jim and Delene were married February 17, 1967. During their life together, they raised their family with the same faith, hope and love for Jehovah. Jim worked various jobs throughout his life, the one he held most dear was his work in the full time Ministry. He enjoyed engaging with people and speaking to them about Jehovah and his promised future. Jim looked forward to the future with unwavering faith, conviction and anticipation. He expressed his desire to be able to welcome back those resurrected in the New World and teach them about Jehovah. We now look forward to welcoming Jim back in that promised Paradise very soon.

Brother Platt was such a great encouragement to me prior to my baptism, and he continued to be way afterwards. He always had a smile on his face and was quick to share words of wisdom. I fondly remember how loving and reassuring he was during my set of baptismal questions with him. That memory has always stayed with me and uplifted me. We pray his family finds comfort in knowing that he is resting and we can’t wait to welcome him back with open arms!!!!! We love you Platt and De Medeiros family forever! ❤️ Love always, Valentin Family
