The Lord Giveth and the Lord Taketh Away - Job 1:21

In Loving Memory of Dr. E. Kenneth Andoh (Okofo Amoako Bondam, III)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a remarkable man, Emmanuel Kenneth Andoh, PhD, also known by his royal title as Okofo Amoako Bondam, III, paramount chief of the Enyan-Maim traditional area in Ghana’s Central Region. He was also known to his friends affectionately as Ken, Kwamena, ‘Paramount’ or Nana. Our beloved father and husband departed this world on February 4, 2025, at the age of 80, while visiting his family in the United States.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever resonate in our hearts. He is survived by his devoted wife (Philomena Efua Andoh née Mensah), children (Kobina “Papa” Andoh, Kofi Gyan Andoh, and Efua Eyiawa Andoh), and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother to his three children, Afua Kobi Andoh (née Bonsu) in 2008.

Nana was a visionary leader whose impact reached far beyond his traditional role. As an accomplished international civil servant with the UN’s ILO (International Labour Organization), he dedicated his life to development, education, health, human rights, and African liberation. He was also a devout Methodist with unshakeable faith in God and commitment to serving others. Cherished by his family, friends, and colleagues, Nana was renowned for his boundless curiosity, kindness, wisdom, and generosity.

As a member of the esteemed royal Dehyena family, he served his people with dignity and grace as the paramount chief of Enyan-Maim. His leadership was marked by compassion, foresight, and a deep commitment to the well-being of his community.

A private church service will be held in his honor in Ghana to celebrate his extraordinary life, in due course. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made towards the completion of the Enyan-Maim Health Center, a project that held a special place in his heart. (Details for donations will be provided shortly).

Nana’s life was a testament to the power of hard work, pursuit of education, perpetual service, and transformational leadership. His unwavering dedication to improving the lives of others will continue to inspire generations to come.

Rest in eternal peace, dear father, husband, leader, and friend. Your light will forever shine in our hearts and in the countless lives you touched.
