Dalip and I were friends as teenagers, so as a result, I visited the Mahal home numerous times over the years 1978-1985. In fact, it was a sort of epicentre for our small group of close friends that included Paul, Barbara and Lisa. I even slept over a few times. I also had the pleasure of visiting them a couple of times in Dundas, many years later. Anyway, it is true what Dalip says about his mum always wanting, needing, and insisting on feeding everyone. Food is love, and she had both in abundance. It was here in fact, in that house on Beaufort Street, that was born my appreciation and love for Indian food. But beyond the fact that it was always delicious, it was the way it was given by Suneeta - as bright and shiny a personality as you can find - with loving attention and a ready laugh. She was luminous! You could not help but smile and be happy around her. It was infectious. I have never seen her in anything but a positive mood. The bottom line here is that she made everyone feel welcome and part of the family - her extremely extended and adoring family. I know that she is at peace now and sharing her limitless love in ways that we cannot even fathom. She will be deeply missed, but always remembered.

The video of me scattering mom's ashes is now in the memento section. Her ashes were scattered near St. Joseph's Villa in Dundas, which my mother helped enormously through her fund raising efforts. The stream runs around the Villa and it is the right place for her ashes.
