Lorna Begg
December 11th, 1984 - March 27th, 2023
December 11th, 1984 - March 27th, 2023
The will to save a life is not the power to stop a death. (Kübler-Ross & Kessler)
Lorna Begg, born 11th December 1984, 38 of Portmarnock, Dublin, daughter to Cyril and Olive Begg and sister of Denis Begg has sadly passed away 27th March 2023.
A message from Lorna’s family:
When I found out that I was pregnant for the second time I was thrilled. From the get go she certainly made her presence felt. I was sick from day 1. The doctor thought I had food poisoning, then I could not keep food down for the whole nine months. I was lighter in weight towards the end of pregnancy than I was at the start. She was due on 24th December but Lorna being Lorna, could not wait to get here and arrived within three hours of start of Labour. That was our last day of peace. She never slept at night so I used to work at night and she would be watching the music channels on TV. Tt was the only thing that kept her quiet. She was 3 years old before she slept at night. Always ready for fun and an escape artist. I had to tie her into her car seat otherwise she would stand between the seats chatting away. She could get out of her cot even though we lowered the floor of the cot it almost to the floor in her bedroom. She used to pile all the clothes into a corner and then slide over.
Even at that age she was a problem solver. An amazing personality. Lorna could see through fake people within seconds. I taught her to drive and we had such laughs. Then I told her to get an automatic to make life easier. If I asked her how to do something on Facebook/Instagram it would be “Mom how do you not know how to do this” and I would say, because I did not grow up with one and we did not have the internet or mobile phones.
Talking about her like this makes me feel that she is beside me. I know all her friends and colleagues are hurting as well. I am beyond devastated, she was the light in my life.
Lorna went horse riding in Carey’s in Kinsella from age 6 and then Broadmeadows and later to Carrickmines. She never lost her love of animals. They instinctively knew she would love them and cherish them. We had 1 Springer Lisa, who loved her. If she was not to be seen around the kitchen she would be wrapped up in Lorna’s arms. When Lisa crossed rainbow bridge she was devastated.
Then we got two cocker spaniels, Sam and Jessie. They absolutely adored her and loved to see her home. Everybody else would be ignored by the dogs. They too have crossed rainbow bridge. Lorna was able to borrow Denis and Kate’s springer, Buckley and he adored her as well. I think if animals love a person, that person is truly a good person.
Lorna is painfully missed by her family; Cyril, Olive, Denis, Kate and her adored niece Alannah and by her many friends around the world, including Ireland, UK, the Netherlands, Australia and U.S.
Forever in our aching hearts.
Her loving family.

One more time, we're going to celebrate. Hiking, swimming in the sea, traveling, music (particularly Daft Punk), and an ice-cold pint on a sunny day – Lorna and I bonded over many things and shared countless memories that I've spent hours reminiscing about over the past two weeks. We danced together at music festivals, roamed and laughed our way around the pubs of Dublin, and caught up on weekend plans and travel bucket lists. From the first day I met her, I felt she had my back, sharing the load on tough days and infecting me with her positive energy on the good ones. She was a mentor to me and, above all else, a great friend. Reading the tributes and memories in this channel, it's clear that Lorna was herself with everyone she met. She didn't do things by halves. She went all-in on friendship, giving her full support, attention, and care. She was truly at the heart of our EMEA Comms Team, and her departure will leave a significant void. She was a connector, bringing us together and pushing us to achieve great things. She was a compassionate leader and brought her unique sense of joy to every meeting, always up for a laugh and a story or two. She once sent me a message saying, "I'm just here to provide the tools and moral support to allow you to do the work you want to do." I think this captures who she was as a teammate and a friend, always putting others first and never taking enough credit for it. Personally, it will take a long time to figure out life at Salesforce without Lorna Begg, and I know many of you feel the same. For now, let me say how lucky I feel to have known her and how grateful I am for the impact she had on my career and my life. Lorna's family, I am so sorry for your loss, and I hope you know what an impact she had and what a legacy she leaves. I'll see you on the other side, dude, whenever and wherever it may be, and we'll celebrate one more time.

Lorna I just haven't known what to say. You are one of the most phenomenal, positive people I have ever met and it's clear this was the opinion of everyone who had the pleasure of meeting you. Our lives are all the richer for having had you in them. You will always the highlight of a festival and the queen of Whelans.
Warner Music Ireland

We mourn the loss of our friend and former Warner Music Ireland colleague Lorna Begg. During Lorna’s time at Warner Music Ireland, she worked across many artists campaigns. We will be forever grateful for her dedication and attention to detail on everything she worked on. Lorna’s music taste spanned many genres, from Dua Lipa to Def Leppard! Her knowledge, passion and love for music and live gigs was and will always remain unrivalled. As an absolute legend herself, she will be rocking out with all the greats above. We will miss Lorna and our deepest condolences go to Lorna’s family and friends at this time.

I meet lots and lots people working on concerts/shows all the time. Some people you meet once, and never forget them. Lorna was one of those. I met her loads of times, at different venues, studios, RTE and was always a blast of light (ray of light doesn’t cover it!). She was really special. I lost touch with her for a while then boom, she waltzed right back into the room with Salesforce this time, with dreams and aspirations bigger than the whole world. What’s more, I went round for round over a few months, trying to up the game bigger than hers and repeatedly lost to her. She dreamed big. We conceptualised a really amazing music video. We made it and knocked it out of the park… the conversations went to the moon and beyond after that…. Never stop dreaming, pushing the boundaries and shining your light. Incredible, incredible person. Sending the big loves out to everyone who knew her and will miss her.

Lovely Lorna, I had the absolute privilege of working with her whilst I was in Warner, she was in Muzu, then I was in Sony and she was in O2 - a more funny, witty, enthusiastic, music-passionate sweetheart than you could ever hope to meet. So very sorry to hear of her passing. The world is a little bit sadder today. Light and love to family and friends… x

It is hard to put into words how much Lorna meant to her friends. She changed the lives of everyone who knew her. I’ve been reflecting on the impact that Lorna had on the lives on her friends. I don’t know anyone who had more friends than her, and I don’t think that she realised the impact that she had on her friends. Lorna was the type of friend that actually shaped you. She helped you to see who you truly are and she helped you to see your potential. And she will continue to be a role model for me. We had so many plans this year but I know that you will have a presence in our lives. We will find joyful ways to remember you, and make you proud. I am so sorry for your loss Olive, Cyril and Denis. She loved you all so much.
