On Sunday, July 26, 2020, Dalia Rosa Robinson, passed away at age 82, but her larger-than-life persona and vibrant personality will not be forgotten. Dalia was born on September 30, 1937 in Havana, Cuba. She was first and foremost a loving sister, aunt and friend. Dalia was vivacious in spirit. She was passionate about God, life, her friends and family. She was known for her cheerful personality, infectious smile, and kind and compassionate spirit. Dalia could always be found surrounded by her friends and family. Her favorite hobby was socializing and spending time with her family and friends. Dalia never took life seriously, laughing up to her last days. She was always up for an adventure, never saying no to the next best thing. Dalia excelled at sewing, cooking and creating long lasting friendships. Dalia was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. Along with her parents and brother George, she immigrated to the United States on February 29, 1956. Through family contacts, Dalia and her family lived in Miami, Florida. Soon after her arrival, Dalia married William J Robinson on November 16, 1956. Dalia soon moved to Los Angeles with her parents, brother and husband. Dalia worked alongside her mother in the Los Angeles garment industry. Dalia and her mother were very close, riding the bus together, working together and talking to each other on the phone all hours of the night. After living in Los Angeles for some time, Dalia moved to Las Vegas with her husband. Dalia worked at the Sahara Casino, where she retired as the head seamstress. Dalia was preceded in death by her parents, Blanca Nieves and Eulalio Mena and her husband, Bill Robinson. She is survived by her brother George Mena and his wife Sherry along with her nieces and nephews, Steven Mena, Brian Mena, Ashley Sok and Heather Krishnan. She also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews and countless friends in Las Vegas who will remember and love her dearly. Dalia loved the beach, once stating "I started my life by the beach, I want to end my life by the beach." To honor Dalia's wishes we are planning a beach memorial service.

I met Dalia not long after the Sahara hotel closed. We were in the grocery store and she started talking to me. It turns out we had a mutual friend that she had worked with. When she mentioned she was a seamstress I was thrilled. Me and my husband enjoyed our conversations with her and we loved her cat. Dalia was the most upbeat, happy, positive person I have met. The last time I saw Dalia was June 2020 in the grocery store and she was once again making friends with the other customers. She looked well and said she was doing fine but Dalia would have never said otherwise. She did not want anyone to worry about her. We will miss her smile and our conversations. Our condolences to her family.

Aunt Dalia was one of the funniest ladies around. She was sweet as pie, but had no problem telling you how she really felt. She was the most generous person. If you asked her for $100, she would give it to you no questions asked. She had a heart of gold. Aunt Dalia you will be missed. Love you always. 💖💞

I met Dalia in a 1968. We were best friends since. When Dalia and her husband Bill moved to Las Vegas, every time we went there, we would visit them. As the years went by, our friendship grew stronger. We would call each other once or twice a week, and would talk and talk, until we ran out topics. Dalia: I will remember YOU for your never ending smile, and my heart, will always be with YOU. R. I. P. ❤️ Nilda Kopernik
