What a great holiday we had with Peter and Barbara In 2009 - We went skiing in a large "family" group - as it seemed like we were all one family. Lots of laughs, food, wine and skiing. A lovely man.

Gill a publié un commentaire Peter, thank you for introducing me to bridge, especially in this lock-down period. You were always a real gentleman and it was an honour to be able to visit you in Meadowcroft. You always were interested in what was going on outside and never complained about your situation. You will be missed

Martin And Krzysia Gossage a publié un commentaire Peter was just brilliant! Keeping his sense of humour in spite of all his vicissitudes was quite an achievement. The last time we saw him was on his birthday shortly before lockdown. It was a jolly occasion - presents and flowers and raspberries had arrived, Peter was tucking in, meanwhile typically getting all the quiz answers before anyone else and there was a lot of laughter, much of it caused by Peter’s dry interjections. We are privileged to have had him for a friend.

Robert Procter a publié un commentaire Peter was a wonderful promoter of bridge in his community and throughout Oxfordshire. With Barbara by his side, he made a huge contribution to making cafe bridge a regular feature in Oxfordshire's bridge calendar. Visiting him at Meadowcroft I found we had many other common interests from crosswords to politics and from quizzes to sport. Very sad that he never made it back into the community - he certainly never gave up hope.

Jenny a publié un commentaire I cannot do Peter justice in a few words here. He was so loved and respected by the bridge players who crossed his path. For me his humour and friendship will be irreplaceable. Barbara and Peter were the perfect host and hostess on overseas congresses - always there to meet you when you arrived. He will be part of folklore in the EBU. Thanks for knowing you Peter.

Peter, it has been a great privilege to know you (and Barbara) since we first moved to Thame 35 years ago. You were a lovely family man who, like us, had 3 sons. We had a lot of things in common: going to the opera, theatre trips and Sonning Mill, enjoying good food and wine, and eating with friends.

Chris And Alison a publié un commentaire Peter and Barbara were the first friends we made when we arrived in Thame more than forty years ago and it was always a pleasure to spend time with him. We always enjoyed his tales of the ups and downs of shop life and some of his more challenging customers; always amusing but never malicious. We shall miss that smile of his.

Ele Jeffery a publié un commentaire My first memories of Peter were in the 1980's when my late parents had moved near Thame and originating from Slovakia, Jordan's stocked many of the continental products they loved! Peter was always so lovely with them. It was only later that I came across him Bridge wise and more recently formed a friendship with Barbara and Peter enjoying some bridge sessions at Meadcroft during Peter's last months. He was always in good humour, totally uncomplaining enjoying the Bridge sessions and eating any goodies I happened to take along!! Peter will be sorely missed RIP love Ele xx
