William V. Torres
April 24th, 1939 - January 31st, 2026
April 24th, 1939 - January 31st, 2026
He peleado la buena batalla, he acabado la carrera, he guardado la fe. Por lo demás, me está guardada la corona de justicia, la cual me dará el Señor, juez justo, en aquel día; y no sólo a mí, sino también a todos los que aman su venida. ( 2 Tim 4:7)
William V. Torres
- April 24, 1939 – January 31, 2026
- William V. Torres was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, and lived a life defined by faith, service, and unwavering love for his family.
- He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before answering a higher calling. In 1966, he founded Pentecostal Christian Church in Springfield, Massachusetts, transforming a community and building a spiritual legacy that would span generations.
- A faithful servant of God, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, William led with conviction and loved with his whole heart. He had a legendary voice—at least in his own mind—and an infectious sense of humor, famously never tiring of asking for "a million dollars" with that signature grin.
- He transitioned to be with the Lord on January 31, 2026, surrounded by Valeria, his daughter Janet, and his son Benjamin.
His legacy lives on in every life he touched, every soul he shepherded, and every heart he filled with love.

Words can not express how I feel right now. Although, we got to know each other for a limited amount of time as your caregiver, but the time spent spent is as if knew you for years. During our time you helped me see and understand what it truly means to have Faith in all that we do in life and help me with the understanding of the word, with your stories while doing your exercise on the bike, which I may add you extremely unliked. I respected and seen you as not only as a friend, reveverond but treated you as if you were my father. I am truly and forever grateful to you and your family for giving me that opportunity to be part of your life. I will always remember the talks during our daily walks, our laughs, your stuburness at times and especially your singing, that was the best part of my visit, it always put a smile on my face. You Will Always Be In My Heart Lindsay

The man who shaped me into who I am today lived his life walking closely with the Lord. He didn’t just speak about faith — he lived it. He showed me, through his actions, that putting God first is the foundation of a meaningful life. He valued our family’s unity, and he extended that same love and commitment to the world around him. His service to the community was constant and genuine. He fed the hungry, clothed those in need, and gave generously to the less fortunate. Watching him travel to different parts of the world to share the Word of God was something truly special. His faith wasn’t confined to a church building — it was active, alive, and always moving. As a child, I remember receiving a dollar and hearing him say, “Ten percent belongs to the Lord.” It was a simple lesson, but one that stayed with me for life. And that was just one of many lessons he taught — lessons about faith, generosity, humility, and purpose. His life was a testimony. His example was a gift. And the values he instilled in me continue to guide my steps every day.

Rev. William Torres my spiritual father, I would never forget the day that he called me his daughter which meant the world to me. As a daughter I would often seeks counsel on decisions, received guidance, and I was willing to accept correction(this was the hardest), but he was committed to invest in my spiritual growth. I will forever be grateful for his mentorship, extraordinary guidance and love. I also can’t forget my first missionary trip to Mexico City(Puebla and Cuernavaca) with my pastors and a small group of youth. Definitely God did not created me to become a missionary because I could not eat there food. Pastor was scared and thought I was going to die because all I ate was chips and a bottles of Coca-Cola for two whole weeks, lol! He was such a loving and caring father. He was mostly known for NOT sugarcoating his messages, most of his preaching were powerful messages based on the Word of God. Those messages acted as a double edge, sword they would cut deep and changed hearts they convicted people of sin and always revealed the truth, no doubt they were solely designed by God. The messages accomplish specific purposes they straightened, corrected, encouraged and transformed believers and lead hundredths of people to repentance. Isaiah 55:11 promises that God's Word will not return empty but will accomplish what He pleases. I also remembered that you never left a Sunday service the same. I pray for the comfort of the Holy Spirit during this time of profound loss. May he rest in the fullness of shalom with Jesus. Rev. William Torres legacy will forever be a guiding light.

My dearest friend Janet, I'm so deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved dad. May God wrap you and your family in his peace and give you strength in the days ahead. Take comfort in knowing that his love will always be with you, and he now rests in God's eternal care. 🙏❤️

1 Corinthians 11:1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. I've always believed my Dad resembled the life of Paul and could proudly say this to us all. My Dad is my hero, my best friend, my confidant. The most amazing father a child could ever have. He lived a Godly life, a prayer warrior, a faithful man that not only founded the Pentecostal Christian Church but also planted churches around the world. His life was one of a Missionary with such a GREAT Vision. He would give anyone the shirt off his back to make sure that person and or family did not go without. He gave selflessly and taught us the same. Today we honor him for who he is a man of God with a divine calling. He changed many lives and he loved hard. His church was his family. Today I look up to the heavens and thank God for giving me the best Dad in the world. I promise to continue your legacy and to love on people, give to the poor but above all lead a life pure and dedicated our Lord Jesus. Daddy till we see each other again in heaven. Oh what a glorious day that will be. Sending you kisses and hugs. Thank you for all you did for me and Jackeline Jeanette!!!!
