Vernon Lloyd Forbis

Vernon "Red" Forbis, 91, of Harrisburg, AR, departed this life Monday, August 12, 2019 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1928 in Monette to the late Walter and Banta (Medsker) Forbis. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church. He loved to fish and anyone that had been around him would tell you he loved to sing and did so quite often. Red was preceded in death by his wife, Lois (Hosford) Forbis; three brothers, Frank, John "Cot" and Denver Forbis; six sisters, Vada Adams, Sylvia Barton, Leola Miles, Voila Rotten, Hazel Phillips, and Vera Looney; and one great-grandchild, Aleeah Austin. He is survived by one son, Rickey (Nita) Forbis pf Trumann, AR, one daughter, Joice Ann (Timmy) Austin of Harrisburg, AR; two sisters, Rachel (Paul) Harris of Memphis, TN and Mary Hale of Wynne, AR; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Michele) Forbis of Trumann, AR, Annde Goodman and fiance Terry Sprouse of Blytheville, AR, and Dylan (Tiffany) Austin of Conway, AR; seven great-grandchildren, Alexis, Austin, Sydney, Caleb, Cameron, Cayman and Kinley, and three great-great-grandchildren, Aubree, Cayden, and Asher. Funeral Services were held Wesnesday, August 14 at 1:30 at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann, AR with Rev. Ronnie Redell officiating. Burial followed in the Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery in Harrisburg.
