Rodney Allen Roberts, Sr., of Parkersburg, WV, departed this life on December 16, 2024, at the Willows Center Nursing Home.

He was born October 23, 1946, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Dennis Dorsey Roberts and Alice Marie Johnson.

Rodney was a United States Navy and Army National Guard and Reserve Veteran. He retired from CSX Railroad after thirty years of employment as a trackman.

He is survived by one son, Rodney Allen Roberts, Jr., of Parkersburg, WV, one granddaughter, Jordyn Nikol Maxwell (James), three great grandchildren, Jayde, JJ and Jensyn, son in law, Chad Holliday of Clarksville, TN., his sister Sandra Brunson, two brothers, Brian Roberts (Kathy) and Dennis Roberts, Jr.

In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Diane Roberts and daughter, April Dawn Holliday, Clarksville, TN.

A private cremation will take place at Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society, with a future celebration of life to be announced.

I will always remember your laugh after one of your silly jokes. I remember the patience you and Diane had, when Rodney and April were younger, inviting/welcoming all us crazy kids to your home with a smile on your face before AND after we left.
