Gustavo Rascon of Espanola, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday August 4, 2024, at the age of 36. He is survived by his spouse Tamara Bencomo and his four children, Carlos, Tatiana, Angel, and Alejandro Rascon. He’s also survived by his parents, Desideria and Luis Rascon, as well as his two siblings, Luis and Clarissa Rascon. Gustavo was always there for his children, no matter rain or shine. They will always remember their dad being their number one fan at all of their sporting events, as well his ability to take them to discover new places and have new adventures. They will forever love him and miss him.

Gustavo was an avid Raiders fan, he enjoyed video games, comic books, and his favorite color was orange. He was a master on the grill, which was due to the fact he aspired to become a chef one day. Batman and the Joker were his favorite movie characters. Gustavo worked with the community for many years and will be forever loved and missed.

Gustavo Rascon de Española, Nuevo México, falleció inesperadamente el día domingo, 4 de agosto, a la edad de 36. Lo sobreviven su esposa Tamara Bencomo y sus cuatro hijos, Carlos, Tatiana, Angel, y Alejandro Rascon. También lo sobreviven sus padres Desideria y Luis Rascon junto a sus hermanos Luis y Clarissa Rascon. Gustavo es recordado por sus hijos por su constante presencia pasara lo que pasara. Siempre lo recordarán por ser su fan número uno en cualquiera de sus eventos deportivos, al igual que su habilidad de llevarlos a nuevos lugares y crear nuevas aventuras. Lo amaran y extrañaran por siempre.

Gustavo era un fanatico de los Raiders de Las Vegas, disfrutaba de los videojuegos, las tiras cómicas, y su color favorito era el naranja. Él era un maestro de la parrilla dado a que uno de sus grandes sueños era ser un chef. Batman y el Guasón eran sus personajes favoritos. Gustavo trabajó para la comunidad por muchos años, se le amara y extrañara por siempre.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday August 13, 2024, at 7 PM at the Rivera Chapel.

A mass will be held on Wednesday August 14, 2024, at 10 AM at San Francisco de Asís Church.

May the comfort and love of Christ be with Gustavo’s family. I worked with Gustavo at American interlock in Espanola. As my colleague we had many conversations about life and one thing was for sure. Dear Familia de Gustavo, I am very sorry for the passing of Gustavo. The Rascon familia has been very kind to me and Luis, Gustavo's father has helped on my farm for many years. The Rascon family is a very profound and dedicated familia always thinking of others and sharing their many talents and wisdom. They have always brought stability and the finest work ethics to whatever task is at hand, and have been an important contribution to the community. Although I did not know Gustavo except briefly, what I remember of him is his kindness and thoughtfulness of others. He will be remembered and loved always by his dear family.

Hello my name is Emmalee Martinez i knew Gustavo from the Taos Middle School, he helped me work on my behavior in school and he also taught me one thing to never be afraid of who i am. He was strong for who he was and i couldn't believe what happened to him, it broke my heart cause he was a wise strong man but rest in piece to the man that i know best ♥

Martha and Felix Quintana

Felix and I are so saddened to hear about Gustavo's passing. Still can't believe it. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, Tamara, children, parents (Luis) and siblings. We know that he is in God's loving arms looking down at us with his infectious smile. I met Gustavo as an employee of Erisa in Santa Fe, and we immediately became friends. I enjoyed our Monday morning rants about football and our favorite Raiders. We enjoyed working alongside Gustavo, Tamara and Luis while they remolded our home in 2020. Lots of memories of Gustavo's kind and generous heart. He will be greatly missed.
