Mummy Degun, a jewel of inestimable value, gentle, kind, humble, caring, loyal, our dear co- labourer in Christ, a mother indeed, grandmother and friend of all. Knowing you are with the Lord is reassuring, but recalling your love for brethren, committment to God and the vision of His house, we can not help but miss you so dearly. You were a pillar in God's house, Mother to all, Counsellor to many, benevolent and offering your shoulder to many to lean on in diverse circumstances. Your legacy of a faithful and committed service to God, which you left in Rhema Chapel Bodija remains an inspiration to us all. May the Lord comfort your children, grandchildren, your entire family and the Rhema Chapel family at this time, and continually in Jesus name. Rest on Mummy Degun.....

My Dearest Mum, Your demise came to me as a rude shock and left me really devastated. Little did I know that my conversation with you 2 days prior to your death, would be our last. I picked up my phone to call before going to bed that night , which happened to be the same morning you passed but thought I should allow you some more sleep.I regret this so much, at least one more conversation before your transition to glory. All plans to have you relocate here next year were at its final stages but never knew this would never materialize. I wanted you to see how much Ethan and Ephraim have grown from when last you saw them ( about 2 years ago); we were all looking forward to your next visit . I take solace in the fact that you are resting in the Lord’s blossom and have now reunited with your husband(my dad ), your sister( Aunty Seye), your mum and other glorious saints. I really wish you stayed at least some 10-15 more years to enjoy some plans we had for you but I know all things work together for good to them that love the Lord and of a truth, you are in a much better place .You knew God and you took your spirituality seriously. Thank God,I made it for your 70th Birthday. God did that one well sha! At least I was able to see you again. Mummy Yo! Odabo… Rest in Peace!! Good bye

I miss when Grandma Funmi would visit and play with us in Canada. Grandma, I loved her with all my heart and wish she could be here, even if it was just for an extra day.I’m upset that Grandma had to pass, but I know everything happens for a reason and that Grandma is looking down from heaven, happier than ever. God bless Grandma .Rest in Peace! Much love: Ethan Degun

A TRIBUTE TO MRS OLUFUNMILAYO JANET DEGUN I don't even know where to start from but I guess I will start by saying this wonderful woman was an epitome of grace, love and compassion laced with care and deep humility. She was always smiling. Needless to say, she and her sister were big mommies to my siblings and I. Her younger sister, Aunty Seye was my "sugar pie" while growing up in the US and she took care of me and that's the same way her sister, Mommy Degun took care of my brother and I when we came home to Nigeria with my dad because my mom had to stay back in the US to complete her Masters program. We grew up with her children with no particular difference while attending St Isabel down their street. I remember then how I looked forward to her cooking and playing on the merry-go-round they had at the back of the house then. She would always caress my cheeks and laugh when my brother and I talked when she asked us questions. She was a lovely woman to the core, always smiling. Very generous too. It didn't come as a surprise to me when I heard that she established a school because I knew she had a large heart and was very loving toward children. It is my prayer that the almighty would grant her eternal rest and may she continue to find rest in the bosom of the Lord. To the entire family and all loved ones she has left behind, accept my condolences and know that she is resting, free from pain and sorrows of this world. She's at peace with her maker. Love, Yeyetunde Olusola ( nee Agbola)
