I was thinking about my grandmothers and all the stories of their lives and the lives of my parents they used to tell me. They would go grab a photo album and tell stories of friends, family, jobs, school, war, love and so much more I loved it. So… I am going to create a memory book of my mom for me and later for her grandchildren to read. I say later cause knowing my mom some stories may have to wait a few years, course I already told one kid about his granny skiing naked. We would love your stories written down you don't have to read them, I can put them up at the event for all to read or I just keep them if you don't want them shared. Same with pictures any and all ages. You can text, email, mail me or there will be a scanner there also. The pictures and stories depending on your preference will be for the event and me or just me. I will not be posting stories or pictures that are given to me. If you know some stories about me you can add those also I promise no matter how embarrassing I'll keep them. The room will be open from 10am-about 9pm there will be food and drinks I'll have more info on that as time goes on. However Dee would not want us sitting around all day singing kumbayah. So the reasons we chose flagstaff Dee loved the river, desert, archeology, astrology, and wide open areas to name a few. We get all of that right here so depending on weather there is the Grand Canyon and/or Grand Canyon IMAX, Lowell Observatory, and old town area all very close. As head count starts coming in and I get food planned out for the room I will look more deeply into activities maybe even group activities if people seem interested. Suggestion, input, feedback all welcomed. If I plan things right stories will start about an hour after the bar opens later in the evening. That said please stay at the hotel or somewhere or have a DD.

Dee's Celebration of Life

Tamara Katheiser

DeEtta Haynie

DeEtta "Dee" Haynie, age 68, passed away on Friday, October 8th 2021 in Kyle, Texas after a tragic auto accident. She was born July 24th 1953 to Kathryn Elizabeth Baker and Gary Morgan Ralls in Princeton Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents. Dee's sass and sarcasm is carried on by her husband of 23 years, Thom Liggett, as well as her daughter, Tamara Katheiser and husband Justin, grandchildren Dierk and Rune, first husband and father to Tamara, William Haynie and sister, Becky Barnett as well as numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends. For those that knew and loved Dee it will come as no surprise to find out her heart was the size of her chest, literally. She lived her life how she liked and without apology. She loved, laughed, and played at every opportunity. Dee loved the unknown in life, a book, and television. She studied archaeology, was fascinated by the stars, and could get lost in a good book for days. She enjoyed road trips, camping, and the water. When she was younger Dee learned to sew and made beautiful dresses, a huge lion for her daughter's 4th birthday and much more. Later in life she learned how to crochet, we laughed with her at the commercials of the grandma making koozies for everything. She made amazing things for herself, husband, daughter, and grandchildren that they will cherish forever. As we all will cherish the crazy, funny, fun, and fond trips, times, stories, and memories we have of her. Which was always her wish. Love, Laugh, Fun & Play.
