Gregory Peter Reynolds

Gregory Paul Reynolds, age 63, died unexpectedly at his home on 1/19/2024. Greg was born in Miami FL in an area known as Horse Country, moving later to Parkersburg, from where his parents and extended family originated. He was preceded in death by his mother Jean Pennington, his father, Simon Reynolds, and his sister Kirsten Roton, and is survived by his sister Leslie Reynolds of Parkersburg, nieces Sheryllee Cruz and Ashley Roton and Nephew, Anthony Roton, their children and many other extended family members.

Greg spoke of a colorful past, but lived a quieter life in later years, locally working a variety of odd jobs, running his mower business, bartering this and that, and tinkering on his beloved vintage Chevy truck. He was a voracious reader, especially of WW II books, the NY Times OP ed and sports sections, and any newspapers "from away" he could get his hands on. His apparent gruff exterior encompassed a warm heart, evidenced by his compassion for animals (dogs Blacky and Scruffy especially remembered). He never met a stranger, and although he lived with hardship, Greg never lost his optimism for the future. He not only worked for, but looked out for his older neighbors and friends in need. Those friends and neighbors now grieve his untimely death; he will be missed.
