Justin Edward Cimba
17 de noviembre de 1980 - 22 de marzo de 2025
17 de noviembre de 1980 - 22 de marzo de 2025
Justin E. Cimba died unexpectedly on March 22nd 2025 at his residence outside of New Orleans, LA. Born November 17th 1980, he was only 44 at the time of his passing.
Cimba was a talented musician, artist, writer, and all around creative. He dedicated his life to building community wherever it could be found. From the bands and gaming groups he played in, to the homes and third spaces he existed in. He reminded us to enjoy life and to never take it too seriously.
Three memorials were held in his honor, retracing the steps of his life. From the queer inclusive gaming communities of New Orleans and Louisiana, to the dimly lit venues and urban backyards of Pittsburgh, and back to the one of a kind family (both birth and chosen) of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Justin Cimba will be missed but never forgotten. His memory lives on with countless friends and family.

By sheer coincidence, I'm flying out of NOLA on Cimba's birthday. He's been on my mind all week while I was here for work. I tried to see him the last time I was through, but got caught up in the unimportant responsibilities of every day life. I regret that. I'm truly sorry for your loss. He was such a good, sweet, and gentle guy. I'll always remember doing that little production of West Side Story with him out at Cresson Lake Playhouse. I was amazed that I was able to talk him into dancing in a musical... especially when he was the one telling me how stupid It was to go to our high school graduation. He'll always be an important part of my story, and a part of my heart will always miss him.

I’m very sorry to learn of Justin’s passing. I first met Justin in high school at what was probably our very first jobs and got to hang out a few times while we were both in college in Pittsburgh. I always thought he was the coolest person and I felt like the biggest nerd around. I didn’t know him well but always knew he was good people. I wish we could’ve caught up again. Miss you, friend. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

Justin drew this for me in the middle of the night on a napkin at TGIFridays because he knew I love kangaroos.
