Joann "Jo" Esquibel, 52, of La Mesilla, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on October 03, 2022. Joann was recently predeceased by her husband & the love of her life, Robert Esquibel Sr.
Joann was one of the most sweet, humble, and thoughtful people anyone could ever meet and made her humorous & loving impression wherever she went; from dear friends and family, to co-workers, to complete strangers. A tirelessly devoted mother and wife, she did anything and everything she could for her family. Joann remained one of the biggest fans of the musician Prince since her teenage years and loved everything purple. She was an avid fan of The Raiders and Harley Davidson as well and had a very special place in her heart for her fur babies Apple, Chibi, Piglet, Bubba, Kat and her 'grandson' fur baby Kiwi.
She is preceded in death by her dearly missed mother, Annie (Guerin) Roybal, her father Santana Borrego, brothers George and Ernie "Bardo" Roybal, dear friends she always kept close to her heart; Francine Blea and Yvette Saiz as well as other friends and family she will reunite with.
She is survived by her beloved sons; Robert "Robbie" Jr. and Danny, whom love her dearly and will forever miss her loving, gentle presence. She is also survived by her siblings Shirlene Carillo (Robert), Darlene Silva, Joseph Serrano, & Jerry Serrano. Mother & father-in-law Irene & George Esquibel, sister-in-law Jennifer Esquibel, brother-in-law Jamie Esquibel (Teofila), as well other friends and family that will all miss her dearly.
Services for this beautiful soul will take place at a much later date and will be updated as they become available.

Sister my angel God has given you your assignment always my sister forever my angel. You fly into my dreams and when I am asleep I feel your wings brush against my face wiping away the tears I shed since I can no longer hold you in my arms but in my heart. You earned those wings dear sister and you will always be my angel It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone For part of us went with you the day God called you home. Condolences to my special friend's family. Joann will be dearly missed by me and many others who knew her. She had a big heart and was a very caring individual. Robert Jr. and Danny you were her life. I am going to miss my dear friend enormously. RIP Joann and Robert you are together again.

I was so sad to hear of Joann’s passing. I worked with Joann, and she was a sweet, kind lady. She talked about her boys, husband and pets with so much love. I know she was broken-hearted with the loss of her husband. Hopefully she is at peace, reunited with him and listening to Prince. Thoughts and prayers to Joann’s family.

I can't believe Joann is gone. She had so many plans for the future that included her children. She was a loving mom and devoted wife. She was a beautiful person with a kind heart. The last time l saw Joann, she was still grieving the death of her beloved husband Robert. Danny, you and your brother will always be in my prayers. Blessings from your former teacher.
