James Forbes

Jim was born in Dyce in Aberdeenshire before his family moved to Glasgow. He originally worked on the railways as a signalman before moving on to a career as an Administration Manager for several firms including Armstrong Cork Company and IMI Righton. Jim married Isabel Kerr on 11th Feb 1961 and was the proud father of 3 children. Lynn, Keith and Martin. He moved the family to East Kilbride in the 1967/8 where he lived for the next 33 years until his death in 2000 He was a keen DIYer and Gardner who always had the best garden in the street and was also a enthusiastic golfer playing most weekends. Jim contracted Type1 Diabetes in his early 20’s and was insulin dependant thoughout his life although loosing his sight as a result in his 50’s but still managing to enjoy life to the full. He was the loving husband, Father and Grandfather who is sorely missed and fondly remembered
