On behalf of Judy and me as well as the entire "Champagne Class" at P&S, our sincere condolences on Biff's passing. The news was more than a bit of a shock. Biff was always not just big in stature, but big in heart as well. Always with a ready smile, I remember when Judy was being wheeled out of the delivery room after giving birth to our first, he was first on the scene asking "what did you have?" We said, a boy, and he quickly rejoined, "That's great! Now the pressure's off in the future." Never heard anyone say a negative word about him, and we were really looking forward to seeing him again at our 50th reunion postponed last Spring. We will lift a toast to him when we ever get the class together.

(sent on behalf of one of Biff's classmates) Biff was one of the first classmates I met before arriving in Hamilton in September, 1960. The freshman reception for Western PA was held at the home of Fred Remington who was a columnist at the Pittsburgh Press. Fellow frosh at the event were Jim Yanni, Priit Vesilind and George Kowalis. Biff was a teammate on the football team and, since we played the same position, we went up against each other many days in practice. He was bigger and stronger and I still can feel the sting of his dominance in one-on-one drills. Over the years, we had frequent contact. Whether it was on ACBOD (as it was called) or a dinner in New York or advising on his sons' and grandson's college plans. A few years ago, Biff and Mary brought Will and Charlie to Williamsburg and we enjoyed a dinner at one of the Colonial Taverns. Biff was one of guys I admired and respected for his warm personality and special charisma. He seemed to be a finished product when he arrived on campus but he continued to grow and inspire his classmates with his natural leadership and true caring for others. He must have been a great physician! I know I am speaking for a lot of guys when I say that knowing Biff was one of the highlights of my Colgate experience. Gary Ripple, Colgate '64

I want to thank the Greenwich Hospital staff for taking such good care of my dad. I can't express how much we all appreciate Dr. Hollister and the ICU doctors and nurses who treated him like family and with the best care possible. Thank you.
