Cecile Mary Falk

On the morning of June 12, 2022, our beloved Cecile passed away peacefully at home with her children, niece and son-in-law at her bedside. 

She was, and is, a beacon of love, kindness and generosity and we will miss her beyond the words to express it. We are comforting ourselves imagining her having a joyful reunion with Clooney and the loved ones who went before her.

That she could pass away in accordance with her wishes after a long illness is a testament to the loving contributions of her community who supported her at every step of the way. It has been extraordinary to witness friends and relatives step up and take weeks out of their lives, often more than once, to care for her at home. Others, on their own initiatives, have been showing up with meals, getting groceries, taking out trash cans and sweeping up leaves. And, of course, many of you have been schooled in how to play the card game “Spite and Malice,” or lost to her repeatedly on “Words With Friends.” Sweet visits, phone calls and texts were life lines, as much as oxygen ever was, to keep her spirit vital in trying times.

We will reach out to you about details regarding a celebration of life in the coming months. We will continue to add to this webpage as well.
