Carl's Hija
Carl Casey
18 de mayo de 1950 - 2 de enero de 2024
18 de mayo de 1950 - 2 de enero de 2024
'Papa' Carl J. Casey, 73, transitioned to his heavenly home Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at his home located in Napavine, WA. He was born May 18, 1950 in Nampa, Idaho to Terence and Ethel (Easton) Casey. Carl has been a resident of Napavine for the past 20 years.
At the age of 17, Carl enlisted and served in the US Army during the Vietnam war as a diesel mechanic. Following the war, he worked primarily as a diesel mechanic on heavy equipment and buses. After becoming a paraplegic at the age of 32, Carl attended the elite gun smithing school of Colorado School of Trades. Once graduated, he opened his own gunsmithing shop and continued that expertise until his passing. He also worked as a machinist and shop foreman until retiring at the age of 60 in Centralia, WA.
Carl met Dara in Castle Rock, WA. They married in 1977 and combined their children from their previous marriages (Alan Michael, Philip Leon, Diana Pauline, Terrance Dean and Cynthia Gene). They continued to have one additional child, Travis Robert, and adopted Aaron Michael.
Throughout his lifetime, Carl’s top priority was loving and providing for his family and spent much of his time enjoying the outdoors, hunting and fishing. With his generous spirit, he shared his passion and knowledge for firearms, fishing and mechanical skills to all who were privileged to know and learn from him. Many lives were touched by his strength of character, his love for God and country, his thought-provoking-witty humor and his straight-forward, deeply meaningful one-liners.
Carl Casey was predeceased by his son, Alan Michael. He is survived by his wife Dara Casey and their six children and spouses, Philip (Rhonda), Diana (Amando), Terrance (Julie), Cynthia (Todd), Travis (Tiffany), Aaron (Megan), as well as 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Carl was one of the first SCI patients I worked with as a new nurse. On our first meeting he feined that I had broken his hip. Saw my face and said jk jk. Carl was always quick to share his cookies from Dara.

Carl was my neighbor for several years and a good friend. He helped me work on my Harley doing the wiring and installing running boards on my pickup truck. I think he worked on most of my firearms. We became good friends after my motorcycle accident. His positive attitude inspired me through my year long recovery. I'll miss his friendship.

My uncle carl took me fishing for the first time. We caught a little and while he was getting it off the hook he told me to hand him the wrench in the bucket... i wondered what he was going to do with such a big wrench. Seemed excessively big to remove the hook... next thing i know as all these questions are going through my head, he starts hitting the fish over the head with it! I dod ot know such violence was involded in fishing
