Carl Douglas Brousseau
August 10th, 1956 - July 4th, 2020
August 10th, 1956 - July 4th, 2020
God grant me, The Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The Courage to change the things I can, And, the Wisdom to know the difference
Carl Brousseau, 63, left us on July 4, 2020, with his older brother, Boyd, and niece holding his hand virtually via FaceTime. Later the sky celebrated him with the setting sun and nationwide fireworks (mostly illegal).
Carl was born August 10, 1956, in West Palm Beach, FL. He was the fourth born in a line of five boys. In his teenage years, he and his family made it to the west coast where they settled in Imperial Beach, CA. One of his best friends during this time was Jake E. Lee who later went on to tour with Ozzy Osbourne between 1982 and 1987.
Carl attended Mar Vista High School and later obtained a degree in the pharmaceutical industry. His most current position with White Cross Pharmacy in Palm Springs, CA allowed him to help the community and make many friends along his daily journeys.
In 2013, Carl was an extra in the movie, “Behind the Candelabra” and there is a slide of him in a black robe (a little blurry) in the slideshow of his life.
Carl dedicated himself to the AA/NA community and would reach out to all those he felt could benefit from the program. In his most recent outreach, Carl assembled ‘meetings in the park’ due to Covid-19 and he expressed how surprised he was by the numbers who gathered.
He had an amazing laugh, infectious smile and demonstrated how to live a joyful life. We are changed now. Not because Carl left us, but because he touched our lives.
Carl Brousseau is survived by his two brothers, Boyd Brousseau and John Brousseau, his sister-in-laws, Chris Brousseau and Karen Brousseau along with many nieces/nephews and their children.

I knew Carl briefly from when he came to Florida with his mother while she came for a dear friend's funeral. i came with his oldest brother Gregg who was living in Georgia at the time. I'll miss him, just like I now miss Gregg who died in 2018.
