Lauren Suchan

Henry O’Neill

Henry O'Neill passed away on September 8, 2021 with his daughter Lauren and his long time love, Katie by his side. Henry grew up in Brooklyn, NY the only child of Luz and Enrique. He attended college at Kansas Wesleyan University and spoke fondly of his friends, football and all the good times he had while he was there. After college, Henry joined the Army National Guard and stayed in for about six years. He ended up in Virginia Beach, eventually becoming an elementary school guidance counselor and teaching life lessons with his favorite puppets and unique personality. Henry loved singing oldies in the subway stations in New York and continued his love for singing with the Commodore Chorus. He loved to fish, whether from the beach, the pier, or a boat. Mostly, he loved being around family and friends and they loved being around him. He leaves behind his daughter Lauren, his son-in-law, Doug, his longtime love, Katie, her children, Aaron, Matt, and Tim, and many friends and family who will never forget him. While we need to take the time to grieve his passing, we all know Henry loved a good time. Please join us in celebrating his life and honoring his memory on September 25, 2021. Beginning at noon, at Henry's home in Virginia Beach, we invite friends and family to speak, sing, or just be there to honor him. After the more formal memorial service, all are invited to enjoy food and beverages together and celebrate the life of a man who was one of a kind.
