Keith's Hijo(a)
Keith Rich, Jr

50 Years of Computers and High Energy Physics
Keith Jr lived in Chicago IL, Champaign-Urbana IL, Maynard MA, Palo Alto CA, Waxahatchee TX and Juneau WI. Loved playing Dungeons and Dragons, riding his bike to work, making spreadsheets for anything, TastyTrading the market by Elliott wave signals, watching Professional Football, having a cold beer with Pizza on Friday nights and having breakfast at Hobees on Sunday morning. Over the past 50 years, Keith has done a variety of computer work. 20 Years of that has been associated with High Energy Physics [Argonne, Fermi, SLAC and Superconducting Super Collider aka SSC]. His other computer development work in Silicon Valley included large companies like Sun Microsystems and Silicon Graphics, as well as a few smaller startups like "SpeakEasy" in Chicago. Keith marveled on modern day smart phones having more processing power than most of the supercomputers from past decades. Keith's career spanned the time when today's familiar items such as Networks, Printers, and Monitors were invented, made faster and more accessible to populations around the world. Keith is survived by wife of 28 years Lesley Rich, artist of international renown, and children, Kim Miller & Bron RIch. Keith died of Arteriosclerosis in his sleep on “Eclipse Day” while in the comfort of his Palo Alto home of over 40 years and while in attendance with his son during the winter months of 2024.

A poem I wrote a few days after If there's something you want But don't want to ask Something only one of us .. understands. Please don't hesitate to ask Or help me to know So sooner better than later That we may join hands. Dedicated to Keith Rich
