Craig was born in Booth Memorial Hospital in Des Moines Iowa to Lois Elaine Anderson and Robert Leland Thompson on June 12, 1952. He spent his elementary, middle and high school years growing up in Ellsworth Iowa. He graduated from National College of Business in Rapid City South Dakota in 1974. Craig then married Christine Marie Baribeau March 9, 1974 and had three children before divorcing January 7, 1985. Craig married his soul mate Dawn Christine Robbins on March 22, 1986 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Craig spent most of his career in IT as a software developer. Craig worked for the Bank of Hawaii for many years while traveling abroad. He was part of a team that was the first to rollout a Y2K fix worldwide. In his later years he briefly owned a tanning salon with Dawn in Colorado. The eventually landed in Florida where he enjoyed working his final years at a golf course. Craig was into photography and was an avid Ham radio operator for many years. His favorite movie, Swiss Family Robinson, inspired him to live the "island life" with Dawn in Tonga, Hawaii & Fiji for a number of years. Craig was preceded in death by his mother Lois Thompson; father Robert Thompson, mother-in-law Virginia Robbins, father-in-law Morris Gene ‘Robby' Robbins, and brother-in-law David Halverson. Craig is survived by his wife Dawn Thompson; his three children Cameron Flores; Carissa and John Farris, Nicholas Thompson; his two sisters Kathryn Prowant, Sheryl Halverson; his six grandchildren Xavier Flores, Makensey Flores, Gavin Flores, Lilly Farris, Carter Thompson and Ellis Thompson; his two nephews David and Bradley Prowant as well as other relatives and friends. The family of Craig wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the nurses, aides, social workers and other staff at Hospice Austin who helped care for Craig in his last few months of life. We also want to thank everyone for their prayers and kind expressions of sympathy. At his request no service will be held at this time. However, a celebration of life will be held later this year for family and friends to be able to gather and commemorate Craig's life. If you would like details about the event as planning begins please contact Cami Flores ( flores.cami@gmail.com ) to be put on an invitation list once arrangements are made.
